An article in the Albany Times Union today had a nice quote on Cornell hockey fans and ticket distribution:

http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=116559&category=SPORTS&BCCode=&newsdate=3/18/2003

Cornell has already requested a double allotment of tickets (800) to sell on their campus for the games.  "They (Cornell) think it's their home game," [Jeff] Yule, [director of marketing at the Pepsi] said.

800 was all they could give us??  :-)

"And we are certainly happy to be playing for the league championship in our own state." [/I]

So, I guess Lake Placid wasn't in their home state.....

Given that the quote is by Schafer who won his championship at the Garden it makes sense to me.

Hmmmm, and how come harvard didn't ask for double the normal allotment...
Attendance Figures:

Playoff game against Vermont #1:  Att: 1522
Playoff game against Vermont #2:  Att: 1517

Maybe there was a Harvard-Yale game (the usual excuse) of whist going on those nights.::rolleyes::

If harvard can't even sell out Bright for their playoff games, why does USCHO keep implying that they will help boost the attendance at the regionals?

"In the Northeast Regional, Boston University and Maine, along with Harvard, make for an excellent draw."

How about just BU and Maine make for an excellent draw.

Harvard is clearly an afterthought, but will bring their usual six.  Which is six more than if they play anywhere BUT Worcester.

I'm sure both of the Crimson fans will be in Albany.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."
