Cornell ranks 52nd in presidential pay in the latest survey in the Chronicle of Higher Education survey of pay (link is to the open story). 36 presidents made more than $1 million.

The New School pays best: #1, Bob Kerry (since departed), $3.05 million.
The best ECAC school to be president is RPI: #2, Shirley Ann Jackson, $2.34 million, including a bonus for making hockey webcasts work.
The best-paying Ivy School is Columbia, #7, Lee Bollinger, $1.93 million.
Ahead of Cornell in the Ivies is everone else: Columbia (#7), Yale (#8), Penn (#12), Dartmouth (#28), Princeton (#44), Harvard (#47), Brown (#49).
David Skorton's base pay is $657,965; total compensation (passing the swim test? kicking Stanford's butt on the Tech Campus?) $854,082.
