Am I the only person who is having trouble getting any pages on USCHO to load?

jason

No. I'm not having any luck (~12:30am, EST) and I'm really curious to see what people are saying about the two SHG in the Union-RPI game.

Jason,

Read my rambling post on the Onion-RIP game. RPI intercepted in the neutral zone both times, catching the Onion defensemen to far forward and Mayotte came way way way out from the goal to intercept, which sent the puck up into the air, and he on his back, then RPI player recovers and fires into the net (with two helpless dutchmen haplessly trying to defend the goal with their little sticks). Mayotte had no chance to get back --- result --redlight each time. he did this TWICE in a row, under almost identical circumstances.  and he did not get pulled. The second of the two goals I believe came out of the corner after Mayotte's block, I had a partially obstructed view as everyone stood up in terror that the same play was happening again. It was like bad Deja Vu.

USCHO's stats pages tend to load poorly a few hours after games end.  It may be because they are being updated, or it may just be tons of hits.

I've had sporadic problems loading eLynah for the last few months.

I've had the same problems with eLF also, but I've gotten the impression that Age is aware of the problem.

I've noticed many times that when an eLF page does not quickly load, if I hit stop and refresh the page will come up dramatically faster on the second pass (even taking into account the time that has already passed) than if I wait for the first pass to complete.

I too have found that to be the case, Greg.  If eLF doesn't load a page within about 10 seconds, I stop and reload, and usually will get the page in less than 2 seconds thereafter.

Reminds me of that poor idiot Quinnipiac dye-job goalie last year. Poor sod.

I've been having problems loading elf pages too.  And, like you Greg, I found that, if I stop & reload, it goes much quicker.  Then, I discovered a strange one:  if I double-click  on the link, it goes through quickly almost every time.  That makes no sense to me.  But, it works.  I'm curious if anyone else has or will experience this?  Is there an explanation for this?   ::screwy::

In addition to the noted loading speed issue, I've had a problem with the "mark all read" (sorry gang, some of these topics just aren't worth following) selection.  It works for the current session, but the (actually) unread ones are marked new once again next time I log on.

ditto here, but as someone said before, I think attempts will be made to fix a lot of these problems.

I got the impression from Age's admin post that the "see new posts" function is what is giving him the most trouble.  "Mark all read" would seem to be a component of that.

I believe that is akin to starting to load the page, then reloading it (much like stopping and hitting refresh).

My current favorite.  I go to a topic (because check new messages isn't working) and it shows the new message flag.  Then read the next message, and all the new flags are gone.  But if you hit refresh they show up again.  Strange little quirk.

I've addressed these issues on the "eLF Still Kind Of Broken" thread.
