The team's success is having an obvious effect on recruiting:

QuoteTarwater, admittedly, didn't know too much about Cornell early in his recruitment. But its staff was persistent. Tarwater followed Cornell throughout the season.

He noticed the wins over Alabama and UMass and the near-win over Kansas. He saw Cornell win the Ivy League for a third consecutive time. And then the two NCAA tournament wins this past week made Cornell (29-4) the first Ivy League school since Penn in 1979 to advance past the first two rounds.

Upon seeing that, he didn't want to "drag out" the recruiting process any longer. Tarwater selected Cornell over Princeton among several other Division I schools.

I was actually thinking this was about a hockey recruit coming because of all the b'ball enthusiasm. You know, Lynah Faithful spilling over to the whole school, so it must be the place to go.;-)
