Gotta give those B2 guys credit for great customer service. I sent two emails and got responses within 30 seconds. Unreal.

I'm happy for you, Rich.  When RedCast consistently starts their webcasts 30 minutes before gametime, they'll be dependable.

Yes, in 2005 B2 gave good service.  They apparently are still responsive to emails, a real plus.  Giving a link to the game after it starts, however, is lousy service in my book...perhaps not in yours.

But of course I emailed them 3 times about their supposed multiple event pass and they never got back to me.::twak::

It was announced by the broadcasters during the SCSU-Maine consolation game (that's in overtime as I type this), that next year's tournament will include:
Cornell, Maine, Princeton, Colorado College

Anyone found a good link for the Colgate game yet?

Edit: link is now up (6:57 EST)

I'd love to swap Princeton for Notre Dame or Miami, but all things considered, not bad.  I'd love to see us permanently lock a CCHA or HE team into the lineup as the third team for Estero, like how we had OSU.

Aww...c'mon Al!  If I can't make a "Daily Show" inspired joke here, where can I?  :-)  I was going for a laugh, and I got a miffed response.  I guess I now know what ugarte feels like.  :-}

I don't see the point of creating a new topic for post-tournament discussion, so I'll jot my completely clueless thoughts here, since I didn't catch a second of any broadcasts due to holiday travel and the completely dismal broadcasting power of WHCU.

Cornell captures their 3rd Harkness Cup, sadly and appropriately months after Ned's passing.  This ties us with Maine for number of Florida titles.  Two of our tournament championships had to come via the shootout.

While it would potentially have been nice to get another game vs. a Hockey East team for PWR purposes, the ECAC Final matchup is a good thing for the league.  WZHA and Hockey Least got to fight for the consolation.  And fans in attendance were treated to lots of bonus hockey.  3 of 4 games went to OT, 2 to shootouts, and all four were close.

I think Al made the comment in the SCSU game thread that we were too much "in a shell" in the 3rd.  This is pretty much what I've come to expect from this team.  We're winning an awful lot of these games where we're hanging on to 1-goal leads by our teeth.  Somehow surviving 3rd period shooting galleries by our opponents.  This is where your judgment of volume of water in a glass comes in for measuring expectations the rest of the way.  Optimist: We're able to win these games this way and it will help us in the pressure-packed playoffs.  Pessimist: we've made too much of a habit of this style and it's only a matter of time before it comes back to bite us and we start dropping them.

I actually got the score of the SCSU game by calling the "Big Red Hotline" late on Saturday night.  For all the high-tech ways to get results these days, I am very grateful that CU Athletics keeps this service alive.  It does come in handy when you're at a relative's house and can't access your usual resources.  For those that don't know what I'm talking about, 607-255-2385, and I'm stunned I can pull this number out of thin air after all these years.

If I'm bored during the offseason, someone remind me to start a crusade to get the games broadcast on a radio station that has enough nighttime power to make it out of the Ithaca city limits.  870 am is abysmal, and someone has to realize that CU has fans outside a 10-mile radius.  I was in Rochester when the games were on 103.7 FM and I could pick it up.  Eagle Broadcasting has what...4 stations?  c'mon.  I was 30 miles from Ithaca on Saturday and I was treated to tons of New Orleans sports talk.

It's really hard to try to find and read through the game thread without spoiling the result.  I almost succeeded, and it involved a lot of strategically covering parts of my screen with my hand.

I hate to wish boredom on you.    But, I sincerely hope you go for that crusade.    I've tried a number of times (including this past offseason), to no avail.   They will not even consider it.  They did tell me that WHCU-AM will be simulcast on an FM frequency (I think 95.5).    That sounded hopeful because even a weak FM signal is easier to get than a weak AM signal.   But, I soon found out that there is another station in Elmira that uses the same 95.5 (or whatever it is) for a translator.   So, I still can't get WHCU-AM at night.

With all of the other free audio broadcasts on the web, it's sad that CU is so greedy that they cannot make theirs available too.
It was announced by the broadcasters during the SCSU-Maine consolation game (that's in overtime as I type this), that next year's tournament will include: Cornell, Maine, Princeton, Colorado College
Looks like a very strong field.  Maine is co-host and I can't believe they'll be mediocre for long.  The Tigers we know all about, and it's great to get CC.  Past performance is no guarantee of future results, but 75% of the field is currently in the top 10. Good job by the field organizers.

Getting strong CCHA teams will always be difficult because of the GLI, and there's little point in getting a weak one (except for a chance of securing the extra PWR win against a common opponent for comparisons with CCHA teams, and even that might backfire since the CCHA powers will likely have multiple wins against them).
