Maybe he hadn't learned the lesson because he has gotten away with it at other times.  This time he got burned and gets pulled so he can think about it.  Not that conservative is necessarily the right way to play but you do need to know the difference between aggressive and stupid.

Maybe he hadn't learned the lesson because he has gotten away with it at other times.  This time he got burned and gets pulled so he can think about it.  Not that conservative is necessarily the right way to play but you do need to know the difference between aggressive and stupid.[/quote]Exactly.  You don't usually pull a goalie after a bonehead move that doesn't result in a goal, so if you're going to reinforce a lesson (one which I'm sure has been pounded into Ben in practice), this was the time to do it.

Hopefully, it sticks, and it saves a more costly mistake in a conference or post-season game.
