>>> The expanded and enhanced home of Yale hockey will include new men's and women's varsity locker rooms, training and strength and conditioning rooms, an added press box, a lower level hockey heritage area, offices for coaches of both programs, a student-athlete study area, new lights, as well as a sound system and de-humidification unit. The upper level interior will also be decorated with photos displaying the history of Yale hockey.

Maybe those history-of-Yale-hockey photos could be backed with sound-damping material. If it's history-of-great-Yale-hockey-victories photos, what photos there are will need have about six-feet of sound-damping.

Ingalls is a reminder that great architecture doesn't make for livable facilities. Women planning to attend should drink no liquids on game day.

Not important enough for its own thread, but Niagara is also doing renovations (only a $1M shot).  Not really all that newsworthy in our circles, but I found the following amusing:

QuoteThe 93 premium club seats — which include meal service, climate control, access to a cash bar, a game program and printed statistics at intermissions — will initially be offered only for season-ticket purchase, at a price more than four times as much as general admission season tickets.

From the look of the photo that accompanies the story, the club seats will be located in approximately the same relative rink location that Lynah's mezzanine is.  The "luxury boxes" that were installed along the L-O wall have seat backs, cup holders, and free programs, but the meal service, climate control, and cash bar are lacking.

Season GA tickets are $80.  Season reserved tickets are $125.  Season tickets in the new club seats are $400.  Niagara students get into GA for free.

Photos of the new seating are on the Niagara hockey site.  My general take: it's like they're installing private boxes into the Northford Ice Pavillion.
