Someone help me with what that means. Is it like the men's job where the coach has another full time job or is this a full time job?

Either way congrats to Doug. I'm guessing it doesn't mean he has to leave CU based on the fact they used present tense when talking about Cornell in the release?

Could be the end of his career. Pretty good run for a while.

Figured this should start the 2015 thread:

Personally I'm very happy with the decision.

Quote from: TimVCurrent successful Head Coaches Bates at Princeton and Murphy at Penn were not familiar names before they were hired, so I suspect there are other good assistants available, like Dave Metzbower at Loyola, at one time thought to be the successor to Tierney at Princeton.

In my opinion you lose a lot of credibility referring to Bates as "successful." Are we certain he is even keeping that job?  Can't see how he deserves another year.

Quote from: MattSYou know what else would have gotten CU into the tourney? Winning the ECAC.

I don't feel like calculating it but isn't the biggest reason we didn't make it the fact we got one point in two games against a bad Dartmouth team? I imagine the BU loss kept us out too but at least we played pretty well in that game and just every bounce went against us. Which can happen in one isolated game. But we played completely awfully both times against Dartmouth.

Quote from: Jim HylaQuestion for anyone who watched the Colgate video last night. Was it choppy? I've been trying to watch and capture the game. It's very jumpy, just stops, and won't reload.

Mine froze every five or six seconds and it was so unwatchable I swithed to Jason's audio after a few minutes. Thought it might be my internet connection though. If other people had the same problem, I guess not.

Quote from: sah67Matt Moulson left the Sabres' game against Phoenix last night after taking a slash to the arm and a cross-check from Shane Doan. He appeared to be in considerable pain but there's been no update on his diagnosis/prognosis today.

From Backhand shelf:

* BEN SCRIVENS. Ben Scrivens, man – he set the NHL RECORD for saves in a regular season shutout last night (regulation). 59 saves in a 3-0 win. The Sharks attempted 100 shots on the Oilers net, all told. Damn. Oh, and Taylor Hall had a goal and two assists. Whatever.

And there is video.

And the NHL.com recap.

It's the system.

And according to reports, headed northwest:

edit: Confirmation from the Islanders' website.

Whoa, that's a stunner.  Sabres were going nowhere so I guess they had to shake things up.  Tough for Moulson, who really found a great niche with the Isles and loved playing there.  Unfortunately his scoring will likely suffer going to an offensively challenged team.

At least he's a free agent after the season.

I wouldn't rule out Matt playing in the playoffs this season.  It's entirely plausible and probably likely that unless he's going to re-sign in Buffalo, he gets traded again for a draft pick closer to the deadline.

Quote from: WederConsidering that one of the fall ball events is a benefit for the Boiardi Foundation, it can't be good at all.
