Harvard's Roster:  http://www.uscho.com/rosters/index.php?season=20052006&team=hu&gender=m

Something to note:
19  Johnson, Charlie, F, Sr

Another Johnson! Wooooo.    If he gets a penalty, then we gotta chant "Where's your Johnson? Where's your Johnson?"

also anyone know how to pronounce the goalies last name? (Daigneau)

Simply one more reason to go back to general admission.  Those facetimers aren't going to get there 2 hours before even the Harvard game.

I disagree.....I think it's one more reason to make people spend even more time in the line. If you have to spend just one night in the line, and you split it up over 5 people, then its a few hours and its nothing. I would prefer they do what they did last year, where its wed night to sat night.....so people on the fence will be forced to make a commitment or not go at all.

Or....they should have a fan meter. You measure the level of fanness, which then decides the distribution of tickets. I'm working on a prototype now.

Welcome to Hahvahd[/quote]

Hahahahaha nice.

And ya, I'm in A, and it was pretty bad...I was looking forward to the Dartmouth game as one of the big games of the year (from an excitement level). I thought it would rank up there with the Mich. State and St. Lawrence games....but I was very disappointed.  I think a big reason why is that there are a lot of non-fans who got season tickets and didn't go to many games, and pretty much got tix for harvard.....then decided to come out last night to warm up.  Overhearing conversations just from around me, there were three different groups of people (so like 6-8 ppl in total) who had either never been to a game before or not gone to one yet this year.   This typically does not make for a loud and rowdy bunch.

I really hope this doesnt carry over into harvard

what's the story behind that? hahahaha

Just a reminder to everyone to try and get the slow sieve chant going at some point for this weekend against Dartmouth and Harvard.

so can we go to Bright, throw some stuff on the ice at the opening of the 2nd period, and then have Harvard serve 2 mins in the box?

when talking about doing a slow sieve chant, i am referring to a seperate cheer unto itself.  I think doing it after a goal would be way too hard....it would probably require printing somethign up and handing it out to everyone, and maybe a little practice too......just too much effort. I'm fine with our after-goal-chant.  But I think the really slow "sieve" chant at some random point during the game (like any other cheer that someone might initiate) would be pretty effective.

i suggest then that we try to get a really slow, sieve chant next game at dartmouth......i think its a really great idea.  In the days leading up to the game we'll have to come back to this thread to remind everyone.

If we do decide to do it, it would be helpful if some people in B helped to get it going.....i'm in A and it doesn't seem like many people are that willing to start new cheers, they mostly only go with the flow and do the tried-and-true.

Hockey / Re: 2005-2006 PWR
February 04, 2006, 10:51:13 PM
looking at the PWR rankings as of 10:48, the only 3 teams that we are losing comparisons to are Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Miami. From what the Robb just said, it seems like we should be able to flip the Wisconsin comparison once the PWR get updated. And Cornell can easily flip the Miami comparison later in the season, as CU and Miami are tied in record against common opponents, but CU has 3 games left against teams that Miami has faced.  Still left on the schedule: RPI, Clarkson, St. Lawrence.

Don't look now but Cornell is at number 4 in the pairwise rankings!

I know a lot could change, especially as the games out west come in.....But this is awesome to see.

Does anyone know if the game will come in on Cornell cable? I know it comes in on the local Ithaca town cable, but I don't know anyone who has that.

Also, will Cornell be showing the game somewhere, like at RPCC or something?

Basically I would like to know how I can watch the game without having to fork over money for CSTV. Thanks :-)

i agree that slower is definately better

but one thing that bothers me is the "it's all your fault" cheer after an Empty Netter. I know you could say that if the goalie has to come out in the first place, then that IS his fault.....but still, an empty net goal is still in fact a goal against....an empty net.

Oh well
