The less Sucks fans, if there are any, that are interested in this game, the more room in Lynah East for Cornell fans.

You can probably say "Red Sox ownership/administration sucks" and most in Boston would agree with you right now after the whole Theo fiasco.  But why waste your breath on that when you can say "Hahvahd Sucks!"

To add to the parking information, there are a few parking garages in Harvard Sq, which I can't imagine run more than $25 for the night, though I don't know how crowded they'll be.  But if you want the closest/easiest parking for the game and don't mind shelling out more for parking than a ticket, it's an option.

I'll be at Hahvahd game with 3 friends.  Dartmouth most likely won't happen.

Looks like they're back online.  Only single tickets available.  Hope that means we keep the seats we already bought.

Hockey / [OT] Cornell grad named Texas Rangers GM

He's also the youngest GM in MLB history.  About 10 months younger than Theo Epstein, when he started.

That was there exact intention.  I think they even made the analogy in the write up, but it's the same kind of idea of the closer in baseball.  Obviously Curt Schilling isn't the greatest closer in the world.  And Mike Timlin shouldn't be coming into the game with guys on base.  But you've got pitchers who can warmup in a matter of a few pitches and have the mental capacity to be called spontaneously off the bench in a tough situation and come in and shut the other team down.  The second best goalie in the game, may not be able to just jump off the bench and come into the game without going through his whole warmup routine.  INCH claims this guy can.

I bet starting games a half hour later than they are now would help a bit.  I know when I was in school that it was hard to get something to eat and be up to the game before 7, just because i wasn't used to eating dinner before 6:30.

I've never so quickly gone from such a nauseous feeling to being so elated as when McRae hit that goal.  It might have taken ten years off my life, but I'd give another ten to see it live once more.

Not to steal a story from Beeeej, but last year I somehow scheduled a vacation out to San Diego that spanned over the weekends of the ECAC tourney and the first round of the NCAA tourney.  We found a bar in Pacific Beach that said they should be able to show the championship game between Cornell and Harvard.  When we got there, the bar was packed with people watching basketball (this was also the first weekend of the basketball tourney).  The staff got us a table by one of the big screens and went to turn on the game.   The first game they got was the BC game in the HE tourney.  Once we told them that BC and Cornell were different schools, the got us the Cornell - Harvard game.  Amazingly they left the BC game on.  So here we were in San Diego, watching Cornell beat Harvard, with BC in the background and hundreds of other people all around us cheering for their basketball teams.  I was amazed that no one even mentioned the fact that they put on hockey.  Even more, I was amazed that there was a whole contingent of Wisconsin-Milwaukee fans there to see them beat the other BC baskebtall team.

Needless to say, getting to watch Cornell beat Harvard in 80 degree weather was about as good as you can get without being there in person.

Does anyone know how hard it is to get tickets from Bright for the Cornell game?  Is it possible to just order them over the phone on the day tickets go on sale?  Or will there be a mad rush of Cornell alums trying to relive their glory days of waiting in a line for tickets, thus overtaking the Harvard ticket office and making it impossible to order tickets without pitching a tent, making a campfire and living like a bum for several days while waiting for tickets to go on sale?

That actually almost sounds like fun.  Basically I'm wondering if I should skip a day/morning of work and hike over to Bright or just run up the company phone bill waiting to get someone over the phone?

One of my favorite things I've seen at another school is the way BU students sing/clap "Ole" the whole time when the Terriers are on power play and then some other song when on penalty kill.  It'd be great if something could be thought up along those lines (without copying BU) as I'm sure it would give a bit more spark to our players, than the random "Let's Go Red" or "XXXX SUCKS"

It might not look all that great to say "Hey Prez, here's your hockey jersey, sorry we couldn't get you a new one, we could only find you this used one."  I'm sure he'd love it, but there's probably some principle involved....and anyways, more for us!
