If the NCAA wants to boost attendance place Cornell in Bridgeport.  Cornell gets 15,000 fans to MSG thanksgiving weekend getting 10,000 big red fans to Bridgeport in late March is easy.

I agree the chickens were great!!!

A shout out to the best Cornell "chicken" presenter --- Bill Silvia (may he rest in peace).

I got the pleasure of seeing him do it my freshman year and then his brother "Redlight" continued the tradition in grand style into the early 1980s.

Axel got elbowed in the head by Van Brabant.  It should have been a 5 minute major and a game DQ but the ref who was 20 feet away was lookng up the ice and didn't see it even though about 2000 other people at the game same exactly what happened.

I believe another two sport player was Brock T (77-81).  He was a great goal scorer in ice hockey for several years but I believe he was also an outstanding soccer player his freshman year.

Corn nuggets are overrated but for those that took Ag Ec 240 many years ago Screaming Yellow Zonkers are GREAT.

As for the hot truck, my kids love them almost as much as I did 20+ years ago and you get get them at the shortstop deli downtown.

Hockey / Re: NYTimes Article about Cornell vs. SUCKS

I must say this artile brings back wonderful memories of smuggling fish into the rink as well as a few chickens.--Back in the late 70's/early 80's we would bring a few chickens and place at least one in sucks net.  One year (before my time) it was rumored that a chicken deposited an egg.  One year the sucks goalie started to swing at the chicken and nearly started a riot.  This added part of the Cornell vs. Harvvard battle ended shortly after a chicken was deposited at his final resting place inside the Harvard goal and 3000 fans began chanting "wake up chicken" just as harvard skated onto the ice.

Let the fish fly next Friday and for all those that will be in attendance be creative in your selection.  I'm looking forward to watching it on TV.

A very impressive win.  I've been going to Cornell games for 25+ years and this is the fastest Cornell team that I've seen in many years.  It looks like this is a team that can win on the big Olympic ice rinks.  Romano reminds me of Brock Tredway, Scott was fantastic and really frustrated the bulldogs into dumb penalties.  Barlow, Seminoff, and Gallagher were also exciting to watch.  We clearly have the speed to skate with the teams out west, while Bitz, Carefoot, Mugford, Nash, McCutcheon, and Krantz give us tremendous size and power as well.  Yes, we lost some great players at the end of last year, but the freshman class looks excellent.
