Hockey / Re: Schafer Suspended One Game

Well.. Think Schafer's getting the moral thumbs up from most hockey folks. INCH columnist gave him a stick salute in this week's ECAC notebook for "taking one for the team" and the "timing of the rant was well calculated".

The fact that cowbell guy hasn't even said anything and has people whom he knows and doesn't know personally jump to his defence says alot. It's just ridiculous to attack someone who has obviously done his integral part as a member of the faithful. I can understand your frustration for not getting tickets.. but there could've been a million people you can blame for this. Not too many people would give you credit for blaming Age and raising this "grave and serious matter" to the clowns at the AD.

Dave.. like you said.. This would make Elynah kinda exclusive. Sure, people who've been around would sign up for it. But it'd kinda discourage new faithful from joining.. possibly just due to the hassle and nothing more. What's gonna stop what's his face from getting another email address anyway? Some things will just have to run their full course imho.

Makes me wonder sometimes if facetimer is actually just a randomly rude computer program, whose only reason for existence is to generate randomly rude remarks... But he does seem capable of independent thoughts. (ie: defending the kid we call Mike & throwing snappers at Dov) Most interesting...;-)

[Q] Do people generally throw Big Red gum at our players (or, rather, just on the ice when our boys skate onto foreign ice)? [/Q]

Gah! NO!!! Now someone from XXX school will use this brilliant creative Lynah faithful inspired idea on our own precious players! NOOOOO!!! *resounding echo fades into absolute silence*

Hockey / Re: Cornell 1 vs. Harvard (sucks) 0 FINAL

Given that BU lost their only game this weekend, while Notre Dame was swept by WMU, we should be making another apperance in the top 15. All I care about was that we played good solid hockey this week. Great weekend.

Hockey / Kid who disses our team
December 06, 2003, 11:36:25 AM
At least you guys weren't at the top of B, where there was this kid who kept screaming at our players and said that they sucked whenever they slipped up. He didn't spare McKee too.. It's true that McKee didn't look sharp last night. But this kid kept going on as if he could step on the ice and kick some butt. Most intolerable.. I tried staring at him but he was just too self absorbed in his harsh and overly justified appraisals of the guys.

Hah.. Danus... :-D Was that what people were trying to call him tonight? I thought almost the whole of Lynah was just misinformed and/or conforming. :-P

Even though I STAND ;-) in B and was supposed to get a great look at it.  I wasn't concentrating too well. But it was great that Murphy called it. 2 posts in one night. One called a goal.. that's pretty ok.

But am I glad that we had a GREAT checking game going tonight. Bitz and O'Byrne were hitting alot more and really hard too tonight. We even managed to keep the puck in Brown's defensive zone for extended periods of time while they had trouble trying to set up properly after their 3rd goal. We looked tons more confident along the boards. We did have a couple of defensive mishaps though. Just lucky that only one of them turned into a Brown goal. All in all.. I think this was probably the kind of pre-Harvard grudge match warm up game we were hoping for. Showing some more of that physical edge that made us so feared last season.

::laugh:: Did anyone else notice the "another sweet save" animation on the brown hockey website? I found it really really funny.. cos it's so ghetto! But at the same time I felt a strange sense of admiration for this crappy animation.. can't put in down in words though. Hmm.. ::crazy::

Alright alright.. Now at least I know who Mike is in the rink. And by all accounts.. he was on FIRE at the Mercyhurst game. No doubt he has been one of the more creative faithful at games this season. But Mercyhurst was his standout game for SURE. :-D Anyway.. I can see why Greg Berge had such a reaction. Cause it seems like such a "No really.. We're better than you sub-standard living organisms" kinda thing to say on the streets. But I think as far as a hockey game goes, parting shots like that are pretty much fair game. If the safety school cheer is so readily used.. I really don't see what's wrong with calling Mercyhurst "Not a real school". I sure did have a good laugh. Face it..  If we weren't the crazy hockey fans that we are, how many of us would have REALLY heard of Mercyhurst?  ::nut::

A strange thought came to my mind.. I wonder how some of those key jinglers felt after we got scored upon.. Man.. I hope they at least realize at that point that whatever they were doing wasn't the least bit appropriate at all..  ::rolleyes::

I have an axe to grind with those who are trying to be the "remote control power play guys" as well as the morons who shook em keys. It's just crazy how just a few uneducated fans or non fans can stand out so badly in a game. How HC is a regular poster and constantly makes such strange comments too is beyond me..  ::nut::
