March 23, 2012, 03:03:27 PM
I don't think there are any other ELF readers in the North Bay, but anyone is welcome to come to my house to watch tonight at 6:00 and (hopefully) tomorrow. Email me for address/directions diannesusanmiller AT gmail.com.

Thanks all for the tips and suggestions!  Killer, Divokej Bill is playing in Prague one of the nights we're there, so we'll see!  Assuming I can find it without too much trouble, I'm very happy to bring a CD back for you!

Reviving an old thread here...I just decided this weekend to join a friend for a few days in Prague later this month.  Neither of us have ever been there or know much about it, so does anyone have suggestions for restaurants/entertainment that absolutely shouldn't be missed?  We're only there for five days and four nights.

Thanks in advance!

John Spencer Is Dead / Re: free food (or drink)

Apparently this promotion is only at selected Subways.  I just went to the one by my office and the owner looked at me like I was nuts when I asked for the free cookie.  :-(

I've had constant video since I switched to justin.tv, but there are now 1400+ viewers, so it wouldn't surprise me if people can't get in anymore.

John Spencer Is Dead / Bay Area Bon Jovi fans?
April 01, 2008, 02:03:28 AM
Okay, this is waaaay off topic, but I've got two extra tickets to the Bon Jovi concert Wednesday night in San Jose.  My friend has a conflict and his wife doesn't want to go without him.  Are any of the Bay Area folks on ELF interested in them?  $75 each; will sell individually or as a pair.  I hate to post my work email online, but it's the quickest way to get in touch with me if you're interested - dianne at sonomatech dot com.

Reposting for those in threaded view...I accidentally put this in the NYC thread.

If there is anyone else living/working north of San Francisco, I'll be taking a late, extended lunch to watch the game at Beyond the Glory in Petaluma.

Apologies for threaded viewers...I didn't realize this was in the NYC thread.

Anybody know if Murray is back in the lineup?  I'm going to tomorrow night's game.  So far, I've yet to see Murray play a full game since he's been here due to various injuries or not being in the lineup.  When I bought these tickets I was sure that I'd finally get to see him!
I was wondering the same thing this afternoon so I checked the Sharks site looking for info.  Their roster shows him as being on Injured Reserve, so I'm guessing the hip pointer injury turned out to be worse than originally thought.

I don't know whether to blame you for the injury or myself.  I've never managed to see him in the lineup either, including last Friday night's game.
There will be some who believe woofing extends to the process of buying tickets to see a Cornellian play.
Oh?  Will there?  Care to provide some examples?
Of the 3 Sharks games I've seen, Murray was in 2 of them, and in both of them he got injured.
One of those was after watching the Cornell game at Logitech, right?  When you, Roy, and I went?  I guess I can share the blame for that one as well.  I'll accept the blame for today's game, but at the season opener (my only other game this year), he was a healthy scratch, so my presence does not always result in injury.

Hey, my friend Nichole bought the tickets and picked the date, so should we blame her instead?  She only went to one or two games while at Cornell so maybe this is punishment for her being a bad hockey fan.

Hockey / Re: Alumni in the Pros - Douglas Murray

Oh man, so close to working out for me!  I've got tickets to the game on Feb. 14.  Of course, my Cornell Murray jersey is already signed, so I guess I'm not really missing out on anything.

For those in the area who aren't on the CAANC mailing list, I believe the CAANC and the U.Chicago club are co-hosting an event at the Sharks-Blackhawks game on Saturday.  If I'm remembering the email right, there will be a meet-and-greet with Douglas after the game.

Well, I can offer my house in Cotati (North Bay) but you probably don't want to drive up from San Jose.  Anyone else is welcome as well, but unless something has changed, I live pretty far away from most other Bay Area Cornell fans. :-)

Damn it, bad timing!  I went to Saturday's game against Boston, when he didn't play at all.  Grrr.

Yeah, Redwood City's too far for me to go on a Friday afternoon.  I'd have to leave work at 2:30 to make it down there.  I'll be watching this one at my house instead.
