Hockey / Is there hockey in Indiana
October 17, 2002, 05:42:16 PM
Hi everyone
Need some help, after 2.5 grueling years down here in the caribbean, i will be heading back to the USA for my clinical rotations in veterinary school. Just found out I will be going to purude university. needless to say they dont have their own hockey team. But does anyone know of any minor league affiliates in that area at all? chicago is about 3 hours away, which i could make if necessary, but am looking for ideas
Thanks
matt

also found out from the hockey office this week that adam has been wokring over old games on tape with grady and getting the feel for Big Red Hockey. ONly strange thing is that he might be commuting from philadelphia area for all games, so wonder who will do the Coach's Corner?

Hockey / Alumni
March 26, 2002, 09:27:03 PM
So is there any word on who is playing in this year's alumni game? Now with Joe in jerseyi expect he will at least be around. I know he has trained in the offseason at the fieldhouse, and i think he now has a summer home just outside of town.

Just wondering if Chartrand, JMP (not really an alum is he?), or Elliot might be back for a little fun.

Fair enough Al, without being there to see it myself I was relying on second hand info. But like you siad it just doesn't matter. As long as we come out with intensity and intelligent play, we have a chance to rule the day

Not being able to see the game, only rather to hear it, the feedback from a friend was that the quinnipiac player was camped out in front for the lone goal. maybe this was because we were not playing the top lines and defensive pairs, but leaving someone out in front can't happen today if we want to be in this game, UNH will eat us alive if we do.

On a positive note, the special teams and forecheck sounded PHENOMINAL
keeping up good solid pressure will be key today

Hockey / Now this would be a road trip

From USCHO.com: About the attendance at the centrum yesterday

QuoteThe regionalization of this year's tournament probably contributed to the record, as four of the five teams were from New England and the other, Cornell, would probably have a large cadre of supporters if the game was held in Vladivostok.

Wow Josh, nice research
I meant NHL, I knew that Burgoyne was playing with Knopp and maybe Oates down in the ECHL for a while.

edit note: its the main story on espn.go.com

Random good thoughts: (anything is better than studying toxicology)

1) Joe on Jersey does make it easier to have my home jersey signed by another alum in the pros (already have Dryden's, but being in carribean limits my live hockey exposure)

2) Since i do have to study, i leave this in the more than capable hands of the eLF, is Doug Stienstra still in the Jersey farm system? If so, two alums on same team at same time possibility arises.

3) Cornell hockey alums in the news right before NCAA's = good omen. just a feeling.

4) on another thread for NCAA tix there is talk of UNH fans SELLING the FF tix on ebay and uscho NOW, its yet another good omen

5) I will be back in the states for next season (well half of it)

LET"S GO RED!!!!!!!!!!!!
