In the AHL, there are currently 3 Cornellians on the same team. Riley Nash has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers and Brendon Nash is with the Checkers on loan from San Antonio. Justin Krueger is also in Charlotte.

Last night was also Greening's 100th game in Ottawa. He played a great game.

The goal went to Cody Bass.
I watched the video back this morning, and it did look like Bass was the one who actually hit it in off Greening's wraparound.

Quote from: jkahnMoulson scores is 31st, baseball style knocking a rebound in out of mid-air.  And Greening gets interviewed between the 2nd and 3rd on the Panthers' broadcast.

For the second time this season; Billy Lindsay (Panther color guy) did the interview him a few weeks ago when the Sens were in FL.

Okay, now for the jinx... here's hoping Colin gets the hat trick tonight.

I think we were all thinking that, someone had to say it.

Moulson has a goal and an assist tonight. He also won the Islanders 10 Question Challenge.

Thank you for posting this link. Chris and Cam are 1A and 1B in my heart, but Colin is making a hard charge from the #2 slot :).

Agreed

Quote from: Kyle RoseI don't see what is so bad about Albany. The first year it was there, the league went out of their way to make it feel like a festive atmosphere, blocking off the road in front of the Knick, bringing in street vendors, etc. I remember it was a great time! As the years went by, there was less and less of that, which to me says they weren't putting in enough effort. If the league wants to make the event a success, they need to put in more effort at making it a festival atmosphere.

I mean, what the fuck else is going on in Albany on the weekend? Nothing! The place clears out at 4pm on Fridays because it's the seat of NY state government and the government shuts down for the weekend. Rather than looking at this as a downside, take advantage of the vacuum for local businesses like my buddy's metal festival (ProgPowerUSA) does for the otherwise-dead midtown Atlanta area every September. Make agreements with local venues and vendors to provide stuff to do during the day. Get Jillians to put together some deals for watching hoops, or shooting pool, or playing video games. Tell Albany Pump Station in advance that there will be a bunch of beer-guzzling, red-clad meatheads coming to town in search of decent beer. Bring some interesting music to the Cajun joint. Organize some outdoor event on the Hudson waterfront park. Put together an amateur hockey tournament to take place at the TUC during the day before the games. (That would be awesome! I would totally do that.)

If you're not willing to subject the fans to the expense of NYC for fear of reducing turnout even further, the best of the remaining bad choices is Albany. Under that circumstance, make lemonade!
I also liked Albany. I remember in '03 and '05 there was a lot going on right near the game, and they had a huge banner across the street. However, I also remember how lame it was in '09 when all they did was put a couple of kids games inside the building.
The main thing about Albany that I liked was that we had lots of fans everywhere you went, and even though there wasn't much to do it was still a fun weekend.

Quote from: abbottfanColin Greening just netted his 3rd NHL goal against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The announcers said it was a garbage goal. I think it is more of a great job following the shot and getting the rebound. It was also a nice pass Colin made to Spezza.

They don't ask how, they just ask how many.

(That's not my original.  NBC, Versus, and Devils' play-by-play guy Doc Emrick says that often when people get garbage goals.)

I can't remember what his 2nd goal looked like, but I don't think any of his goals have been that great-looking. The first one went in off a skate.
A goal is a goal whether it's pretty or not.

Hockey / Re: Cu - 0 Yale - 6 after two

Remembering that this year was a rebuilding year that got off to a very slow start, a 4th place regular season finish and 2nd place in the ECAC tourney is not too bad. Some schools can't even do that in a good year.
However, when we have a successful team like last year's, our expectations should be much higher. In addition to a good end result, we should expect more out-of-conference wins and we should also expect wins (or at the very least well-played, close games) against other top ECAC teams (aka Yale).
And never, ever, under any circumstance should we be tied for 10th place in the ECAC with a team like Harvard (which I believe we were for a while at the beginning of this season)
