Easy to dislike is an understatement...they are all that is bad and evil in this world, certainly in New England at the very least.

Tomassoni - 140-115-26 - ECAC Regular Season Champs - 91-92, 92-93, 93-94 - ECAC Tournament Champs - 93-94 - Frozen Four 93-94

Mazzolini - 82-72-11 - ECAC Tournament Champs 01-02, 03-04

Donato - 95-102-20 - ECAC Tournament Champs 05-06

In Donato's first two years with Mazzolini's players he went 21-10-3 and 21-12-2 with two NCAA appearances and an ECAC Tournament Championship.  Since then he has went 53-83-15 not counting this year' 4-16-0 mark.  Perhaps Tomassoni was not so bad after all????

I agree, all of the reasons for the increased success point back to the AD.  As much as some have issues with Noel, he is the reason.  Now if only he could get the right football coach...

It is looking more and more out here in New England that he is the choice for BC.  All indications from the regular sports media as well as the rumor mill is saying these things.  Keeping in mind that those same sources were saying that he was a top choice for the Seton Hall job and then did not interview that well.

This is so stupid.  As an undergrad I suffered and I mean suffered through the end of the McCutcheon era, that was much more fun than this I can say.  I saw that in person and in living color.  Coach is tremendous, that is not blind devotion it is fact.  Cornell will never have the talent that WCHA, CCHA or Hockey East teams have, that is the landscape we live in at present.  In that landscape he molds teams that should be the pride of us all, hard working, selfless, tough, giving up their bodies for the greater good and instead we kill these guys and the coaches because they played badly for one night against an opponent who won the Hockey East regular season.  Glad we are not Denver fans or coach might be shot at sunrise...

Just an aside, Umile is killed up here for never winning the big one.  He has be my count had the best or close to the best team in tournement at least four times and has never won the final game.  There are parts of the fandome of Wildcat Nation (of which I have season tickets) who want this guy fired.  I have a great idea, lets swap coaches.  I guarntee that UNH with Mike would win a National Championship before Cornell with Dick.

Get of your pitty wagons and see this for what it is.  An ECAC championship season and one bad game at the end.  Am I sad, yes...angry at the effort, yes...but to suggest that Coach and this system does not work is wrong.

I would think that both Jones and Garrow are candidates for the jobs at OSU and WMU.  Roll was mentioned for Bowling Green since he is an alum.  Not sure what more Jones and Garrow need to do to get a head coaching job.  I would think that unless a name steps forward Cornell might be forced to hire some new assistants...

What is Shawn Hannah doing?  Maybe a return of Topher Scott?

Not only the record for 3's but shot 20-30 from 3, some teams have trouble shooting that percentage from the FT line...

Hoops are the Ivy League Champs, 20-30 from 3 tonight which is quite astounding...Jaques with 20 points, Dale 18, Whitman 16 and Foote and Wrobo with 14 each...final score 95-76

Hockey / Re: Cornell 5 at UNH 2 (postgame)

Watching it live and then watching again on the video makes me appreciate it even more.  The one thing lost is the fact that Cornell was into their third line change and the UNH guys had been out the whole time and were absolutely done.  In fact that line for UNH did not take another shift for about 2-3 minutes.  Umile had to double shift Butler's line because they were so tired.

Cornell alum who lives in NH, new to the forum but have read this for years.  I was at the game and I usually see one or two games a year (Dartmouth and usually Brown).  Best I have seen the team look in years.  B. Nash was dominant, Riley Nash was tremendous and Greening is a beast up front.  The cycling clinic was something that should be used in instructional videos.  Patience, hard work and exceptional line changing while that was all going on, the UNH fans around me have never seen that and quite frankly I have watched about 40 games at the Whit over the last several years and you just do not see that kind of hard work down low in Hockey East.  A truly dominant performance that must carry on into the 2nd half of the season.

I have lived in NH for over a decade and have waited for the Red to invade the Whit and play the type of game that they did.  I am at work with my Cornell tie and loving every minute of it.  LGR.
