ESPN website says that all the games will be on ESPN+ (including the ESPN-U and ESPN-2 games).  I think they started doing this last year, because I remember having to find a sports bar in the past too.

Are you sure or should I upgrade my cable 4 days earlier than planned.

Edit:
I see it listed so I'll delay the "upgrade".

I watched the selection show late last night on demand on ESPN+, and I noticed that all the tournament games, including ours, is listed in the "live & upcoming" section on the ESPN+ app on my Apple TV (and on my app on iPhone).  So, it looks like you may not need to upgrade your cable at all.  Awesome for those of us on the other side of the country.  Those of you within a 6 hour drive of Manchester are still expected to be there live.

I was curious, so I ran it on CHN pairwise calculator - if we had split with ASU, we would be a very close second in the PWR.  Same thing if we had held on to beat Clarkson (although we wouldn't be as close to first).

This system needs to be reworked if one game can make that much of a difference.  I know, I know, it is still relatively early in the season, things will change, etc...

The Cornell Club of Arizona bought a block of (I think it was 50) tickets for the Jan 2 game, and sold them to members, and they sold out quickly.

I also bought tickets on my own through the ASU website for the Jan 1 game.  I think you will see a decent turnout of Cornell fans, and hopefully this will become a regular stop for OOC games.  In my own self interest, can we invite ASU to join the ECAC? :)  Gotta be better than Quinnipiac...

A few comments:

I grew up about 2 miles from that -35 degree sign.  Ya, it's cold, dontcha know.  However, it doesn't really matter if it is +20 or -20.  In either case, the only time you spend outside is from the car to the house.  And, in some ways, the colder the better - once you get below zero, it is very unlikely to snow.

If you haven't been to a game at UND, you should go.  The arena is a sight to see, and the town is filled with college hockey fans (there is nothing else to do there).  Wear your Cornell hockey shirts around town and you will have conversations with lots of nice people.  The whole Red River Valley area is unlike anywhere else in the world, both geographically (perhaps the flattest land you will ever see) and culturally.  While you can fly into Grand Forks, there are probably more options for Fargo, which is just a little over an hour down the road, and it gives you the opportunity to see even more of that flat land (seriously, the only hills that you will see on I-29 are the freeway exits/overpasses every 10 miles or so).

The team will be in Arizona (where I live now) the weekend before this series, so I doubt there will be a three day bus trip.  There are direct flights from Mesa to both Grand Forks and Fargo, I would assume they will be flying.  Now the only question is if I join them on that flight and get to see Cornell hockey two weekends in a row!

For Thai - Lotus of Siam.  Has been called the best Thai food in America, and it is certainly the best I have found.  I think the original location is closed for renovations, but they have a second one.  Worth the 10 minute ride from the strip.

During the intermission in the ND-MN game, they showed highlights of our game.  I guess I missed it the first time, but on the first goal that Ferris State scored (on the PP in opening seconds of the third period), our center broke his stick on the faceoff.  He skated to the bench to grab another one, making it a five on three for just long enough to matter.  Talk about bad luck...

Just checked at the hotel bar at the Marriott - they will be able to show the game tonight for any of you at the alumni meetings.

Anyone know a sports bar in Washington DC where we can watch the game on Friday night?  I assume there will be several people that read this forum that will be at the alumni/class officer meetings this weekend.  Anyone interested in getting a group together?

BB update: Seton Hall 40, Cornell 35 at halftime.

A nice run by Cornell in the last two minutes to bring it back to a 2-point game, only to see a 3-pointer by Seton Hall in the last few seconds.
