Hockey / Re: Funny opposing fans at games

1990 Cornell vs Colgate football, my sophomore year.
I drove from Ithaca to Hamilton to see a friend from HS, party, and watch the game (in that priority order). Cornell returned the opening kickoff well over midfield and scored just a few plays later. I of course began taunting every fan in my section and jumping around like an idiot. By the end of the game, the score was about 1000-7 in favor of Colgate. I had to borrow a sweatshirt from my friend to go out that night because the only warm clothing I had with me was a Cornell hoodie. It didn't help - the only part of the night I can remember is that at least a few people at every party recognized me as the guy from the game. I was that opposing fan.

maybe he got suspended - but since the ECAC doesn't announce those, we'll never know

He was suspended by the league, not scratched. One game suspension.

Guess this fits under opponent's news, even though it's not a current player ...

Call the Yale ticket office. I've done this before to bring a group of 20 to Lynah and have seats together. They are very friendly, and won't care that you have no affiliation with Yale (unlike those jerks at Princeton). I'm pretty sure they'll take care of you, with the only downside that you have to be in section O.

Quote from: abmarksThat cheer has been played for what, close to 30 years now (at minimum)

This is just off the top of my head, but I am reasonably certain it hasn't been close to thirty years. If I had to set an over/under, I'd set it at fourteen.

If the band somehow decides to bring back "Swanee", could we also perhaps convince them to bring back "Mary Had A Little Lamb" (Fight, Maim, Kill) as well? My fuzzy recollection is that the band stopped playing that because it was considered too violent, but I could be mistaken.

As far as I can remember from freshman year, I think both cheers were in existence in 1989-90. They were definitely used in 1992-93.

And there goes the one of the last reasons to go to Collegetown. How long does Rulloff's have left?

Quote from: imafrshmnThe plus-seven rating for Gostisbehere is erroneous. He is clearly on the ice for Minny's 4th goal.

Minnesota's 4th was on the power play. Doesn't count as a minus.

Union over Q drops Northeastern to 18, but puts us in at #15 also. Seems more than a little unlikely for everything to fall exactly into place at this point.
