Sorry to post this here, but the Ticket Exchange is essentially for hockey, and that season is kaputsky. If anyone wants two free tickets (single QR code in email) for today's incredible Lax tilt, text me at 646-234-0793. My loss is your gain. If I don't respond within 30 minutes, the tix are gone. Per CBS Sports: Sam Malinski was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Saturday. Malinski was scratched for Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Panthers. It was his third scratch in four games since the All-Star break, so it's no surprise he's going down to the Eagles to get some playing time. Malinski has emerged as the top call-up option when the Avalanche need reinforcements.

Malinski got the callup on Sunday and my prayers yesterday were answered. He wasn't in the Av's projected lineup for last night's Devils game at the Rock, but he dressed! I was flying in to Newark and believed Bednar, who has had high praise for Sam, would get him in there, especially in the second game of a back-to-back. Gotta believe! Sam logged 12 minutes on 15 shifts. He went hard all night. His skating was silky smooth. Too bad he wasn't able to bury a feed in the slot midway through the third. Caught his eye with my CU hoodie on while standing at the glass behind the net during quick skate-around before second period. Great night! Anyone else there?

I am the mystery fan. I was determined to get as close to the glass as possible after getting a lower-bowl seat for a mere $30. Called my friend Joe, whose Greening jersey I borrowed. Met up with him (he had to play lawyer and stay late at the office--too bad) before hopping the Path to the Rock. I made it impossible for the Ottawa cameraman to ignore me. I kept shouting for Colin. Welcomed him to the big show. Glad you got the feed for the Ottawa broadcast. Some Sens fans stopped me to chat between periods; they seemed happy about Greening's call-up. A special experience indeed! Even some goosebumps! Oh, and Greening was definitely aware that I was bleeding red. Were other Faithful there? I couldn't tell.

Anyone need a ride? I'm leaving Friday @10 am from Brooklyn. Anyone want to split a room at the Best Western on Wolf Road (indoor pool, baby! and total for the room is about $88) I plan to take a swim and then get to the arena around 4. I was at the hotel with my wife and daughter last weekend! If you're already planning to drive, I can leave my car in Brooklyn and go with you. E-mail me at moskcraig@att.net.

NEW YORK CITY GATHERING, 3/19 FOR HOOPS AND HOCKEY

Ship of Fools (82nd St. & 2nd Ave.) will reserve tables and TVs if they get a reliable head count. There shouldn't be a minimum charge per person.

If you are planning to be at Ship of Fools for hoops (12:30-3) and/or the ECAC hockey semi (4-6:30), please post here asap. Indicate when you expect to arrive and when you expect to leave. Thanks!

I will text the bar manager, Richie, tomorrow night with the head count.

All in the Family:

From Islanders recap of last night's game:

After Panthers goalie Tomas Vokoun and Islanders goalie Dwayne Roloson each turned away the first shootout attempts, Rob Schremp made a few quick fakes in front and scored for the Islanders. Roloson stopped Michael Frolik. Then Moulson came straight in on Vokoun and went high for the clincher, a move he said he learned from his brother, Chris, a freshman left wing for Cornell.

"He said that it's no fail," said Matt Moulson, also a left wing, who has converted three of his four shootout shots this season to go with 19 goals.

Thanks, Beeeej. I put in a call to Jessica (NCAA b-ball coordinator) at Metro to get the scoop for Ship of Fools and possibly avoid overlapping efforts.

I can't head up to Albany until Saturday, so the best bet for me is Ship of Fools. I will coordinate Friday semifinal with Ship of Fools. NHL Network will have the game (7 pm est.). Respond to this post if you will be at Ship of Fools so I can give them a head count. Hopefully we can get them to give us at least a couple of TVs on the first Friday of March Madness. If you will get there early enough to also catch some or all of the B-ball game (starts at 3 pm), please include this in your post.
