Quote from: wakester24684. Bentley. No good reason to play them. Home rink capacity 1200.

Bentley is opening a new rink next year, so we could host the front half of a home-and-home and then help open up the new building next season. Selfishly, that's the closest D1 program to me, and my brother-in-law went to Bentley, so I'm all for it.

Vermont knocks off UHN in OT.  The at-large field just keeps getting messier and messier...

Anyone else just lose the video?  I had it for about 2 minutes and it just cut out abruptly.

Actually, losing to Princeton and Yale would hurt us more, somehow, dropping us into a tie for 14th with Ohio State and Duluth.  I have to stop playing with this, it's driving me crazy.

Just win, baby.

Assuming I did this correctly (which is a large leap of faith), Cornell still has a chance to make the tourney if disaster strikes and we lose 2 games in Albany.  Losing to Princeton and St. Lawrence leaves us at #14 (behind Air Force, who would get an auto bid anyway), as long as all the other favorites win.  With a three-way tie for 15th (Ohio St., Minnesota, and Minn.-Duluth), there wouldn't seem to be much wiggle room with non-ECAC results.

Ironically, this could also be the best-case scenario for the ECAC, as it would put all four finalists in the tournament (Yale at 5, SLU at 9t, and Princeton at 11t).

Harvard pulls Carroll, down 2-0 with less than 2 minutes left.

Now on the PP - 6 on 4 and taking their timeout.

Boston crowd chanting "we want Bitz" with 1 minute left and a 6-1 lead, hoping that he'd get a chance for the hat trick.  Julien sent him out to a big ovation, but he didn't get a chance.  He's become a bit of a cult hero out here.

Wow, that was quick.  I got in right at ten and got three, (tried six, but no luck there), but that was it.  I tried to go right back in and get three more, but all they had was singles.  I hesitated on getting standing room, and now those are gone too.

I was at the BU-BC game too.  The second penalty was a 5-min major/game misconduct for hitting from behind WAY too close to the boards.  It was a stupid (especially down a man already), dangerous hit, and I wonder how the postponement affects the penalty for the misconduct.

Anyway, it was a pretty good ten minutes.  BC got screwed on some calls early, and it was getting chippy between the teams and the action was pretty wide open until the 2-man advantage.  The ice was just really screwed up.  It was pretty warm in Conte last night, which probably had something to do with it.

And I thought about yelling "Red!" as well, but I think my girlfriend would have punched me.  I can't wait to drag her to the Sucks game in February... ::uptosomething::

John Spencer Is Dead / Re: More corporate stadium names
November 17, 2006, 10:19:04 PM
Quote from: ugarteOf all the corporate names, this is my second favorite (I couldn't care less about Bank One but love that the stadium is called The BOB). CitiField, spelling and the fact that it is a brand at all aside, isn't a bad name for a stadium in the greatest city in the world.

The BOB is, in fact, now called Chase Field.  And my favorite of the corporate names is Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati (and it's a sweet park, to boot), even if it is named after an insurance company.
