Re: 2022 ECAC Permutations - 2 years ago
upprdeck how much would the pairwise change if H2h actually was the main thing for comparing teams that have played each other.. the way it works now you could beat a team 2-3-4 times in a season and lose the PW compare. I think if you go 3-0 vs a team, you win the pairwise. look at the H2h for us and NoDak.by nshapiro - Hockey

dbilmes Browning played a great game in goal for us. She got lucky, though, earlier in the OT when a Colgate shot hit the post. Tough way to lose with so few seconds left in OT period. There were a bunch of Colgate students (all male) at the game wearing their speedos. I don't know if it was their men's swim team or just a bunch of frat guys. They were not nearly fit enough to be collegiate swimmby nshapiro - Hockey

billhoward upprdeck Cornell chances pretty simple now.. They beat Col Princ beats Harv twice this weekend yale beats Brown They split with everyone so as long as none of those teams beat one of the top 3, Cornell wins the Tiebreaker as we beat Princeton Cornell M Basketball still wins the tiebreaker over Football for most recruiting advancement past 5 years. CU2007 Something to consider. With Qpac about to win tonight, they could lock up the #1 seed on Friday against us. Presumably they could then choose to rest some guys who are “playing hurt” on Saturday vs Colgate with their seed (and spot in the Pairwise) assured. This would not be good news for us. Q is currently 7 in pairwise. Are you saying that they already are locked in to a #2 seed, and thby nshapiro - Hockey

upprdeck some sports there are multiple broadcasts as well.. there is a NBC feed a Peackock/Olympic channel feed. often a feed with no talk for some events. I dont find most feeds that biased compared to feeds from other countries because they reality is the broadcast in the US is for 2 things.. One is for promoting the US athletes and is for promoting the sport.. the US is good in some sportby nshapiro - Other Sports

billhoward nshapiroPlease NO! Let us not degrade further into judged events. It is why I find half of the Olympics unwatchable. Can someone explain why they have to have judging for style in Ski Jumping? The Olympics are unwatchable because there's no second audio channel (SAP) that has neutral announcers. CU2007 Here’s something. Doesn’t the committee claim to use something similar to Pairwise but not the actual Pairwise? Is it possible if we beat a bunch of bad teams the rest of the way, coupled with others around us losing games here and there, and move up to say 7th or 8th in the polls but say a spot or two outside the Pairwise “cut off” that we get into the tourney? adamw martyThink also how this affects Q. They feel like crap (or hopefully worse) in the loss but get .54 of a win and only .44 of a loss. So they lose but their pairwise goes up? well, to be anal, they went down too - because their RPI was already above .54 Unless, in that same (anal) vein, adding us as an opponent boosts the other RPI criteria more than the .54 win hurts (and we do have a goby nshapiro - Hockey
