WRPI just went to their "march of the neofascists" segment bridge, so the coverage should start very soon.by Trotsky - Hockey

Hillel Hoffmann Wrote: the lineage I was describing was (ruthless) "enforcer," an important role that no one really took up for a while. Sometimes the two have been the same, as in Olds and Schafer, but not always. No enforcer lineage can be complete without Dave Crombeen.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: [OT[ ECAC trivia - 19 years ago
I hereby give Army Violet, in honor of their former ECAC perpetual suckitude.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: [OT[ ECAC trivia - 19 years ago
Not so trivial. Up until very recently, historically we had balance between partnerships, with a good and bad partner in most cases: Cornell (good) Colgate (bad) -- except sporadially they'd reverse for one season Harvard (good) - Brown (bad) RPI (good) - Union (bad) -- then they both gravitated to the middle UVM (good) - Dartmouth (bad) -- then they reversed North Country -- both good, sby Trotsky - Hockey

Hillel Hoffmann Wrote: Olds was the best. He and Schafer are part of a lineage of enforcers in the post-Ned period. It goes something like this: Stokes > Olds > Schafer ... and then a spiritual gap. I would include Ratushny and the next in that sequence. It's often forgetten that he was a punishing hitter and great ice captain because his offensive skills were so strong. Re: Numbers: 36+ point seasons - 19 years ago
Well, a longer season would make it that much more likely for Moulson...by Trotsky - Hockey
Numbers: 36+ point seasons - 19 years ago
There haven't been that many 36+ point seasons in the ECAC, and if the Big Red capture 6 points in the final two weekends they will have three in the last four seasons. That has been equaled or exceeded only four times: 4x4 67-70 Cornell 4x5 75-79 BU 3x4 76-79 UNH 4x4 86-89 Harvardby Trotsky - Hockey

Re: Things Really Heating Up (NHL) - 19 years ago
Hmpf. A Nickerson on both their houses. Let the game go back to Canada, keep the O-6, and fill out the other 30 franchises from places like Kelowna and Lethbridge. Hell, give Ithaca a franchise.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Last Home Weekend Rollcall - 19 years ago
I saved up all my suck-up points at work and will be in attendance beginning with the QF and proceeding as long as the team can go. I don't know if I have stored up enough suck-up points at home to afford to fly to a western regional, but, hey, it's the NCAAs -- aint too proud to beg.by Trotsky - Hockey

Re: Things Really Heating Up (NHL) - 19 years ago
The N went from 40 to 42.5; the players went from no cap to 48. It sounds to me like they can just split the difference and save themselves immense headaches, but would that be too rational?by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Hobey Voting - 19 years ago
Do you think people are really "load balancing" like that? I'd be surprised, but it's a theory that never occurred to me, that's true.by Trotsky - Hockey
