ugarte Trotsky I am fine if we kill emojis if they encumber things. That it would send the iKids into anaphylaxis is a bonus.lol the only people who use emojis on here all get mad about the "dryden went undefeated" because they watched cropper play live So I'm one of those who saw Cropper play live and proud of it. I use emojis for what I think were a good early intent. They canby Jim Hyla - Hockey

Re: Wrestling 2019-20 - 4 years ago
scoop85 ugarte upprdeck Interesting story in the IJ about the wrestling team this year... koll said his team was devastated by flu symptoms during the season and wonders if some kids already had the virus.it's much more likely that they just had the flu. were there a lot of unexplained deaths in Ithaca that we don't know about? Yeah, as great a coach and leader as Koll is, I don’t think his medby Jim Hyla - Other Sports

Re: Schafer Shares Penrose Award - 4 years ago
Trotsky ursusminor Trotsky billhoward TrotskySo this makes the home and home in November a battle for the national championship and the Penrose. The Penrose BeltRalph? How about it? Assuming that this was directed at me, what is your point? BTW, are you going to update your post-season simulation? Oh, fuck. I totally forgot! Re: Schafer Shares Penrose Award - 4 years ago
Trotsky But when Mike finally hangs it up do we retire #3? 35 years or so with the program and counting. That's pretty special. He has basically given his life to Cornell hockey, and delivered so much. Not until we do something for Ned. The Harkness room just doesn't make it. Without Ned, would we have had Schafer? Who knows, but for sure the path of the hockey program would have been a lby Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: Indoor Practice Facility - 4 years ago
Scersk '97 Jim Hyla I guess if you are in the river, it's on a hill. But as you drive in, well it's not much of a hill to me. The text for Dartmouth's Alma Mater seems to have been written in 1894, the music in 1908. When the text was written, most students, I imagine, traveled north from White River Junction on the Connecticut & Passumpsic Railroad, which eventually became part of the Bostby Jim Hyla - Other Sports
Re: Indoor Practice Facility - 4 years ago
Ken711 CAS Andy said, on a recent football podcast with Dave Archer, that $18.5MM has been raised for the indoor practice facility (about 75% of total cost). Would be used by football, lacrosse, club teams. & intramurals. Get out your checkbooks. Would be a large, free standing building. And a game changer. Looks like they have a great start with the construction funding. It's supposedby Jim Hyla - Other Sports
Re: 2020-21 Schedule - 4 years ago
Trotsky "To be the best..." And as long as the Ivies do this to us we have no flexibility and will be at a disadvantage. Maybe Mike knows the Ivy limit is about to be dropped and we'll have played 4 games by then. Since the Ivy League presidents just voted against allowing spring sports seniors to have another year of eligibility, I think the chance that they will ever add theby Jim Hyla - Hockey

redice Jim Hyla Added the North Dakota home games and Yale at MSG to schedule, although I hate both of them. Yale doesn't add anything and North Dakota will likely have played at least 4 actual games prior to us. That doesn't include exhibition games. I could easily see us losing both and then having to go all season trying to make up for it, much like 2 years ago. Granted losing to Uby Jim Hyla - Hockey

Trotsky Jim Hyla RichH Since the season is over for four teams, it’s possible for pro departures to be announced. Such is the case for Dartmouth’s super Sophomore Drew O’Connor, currently the 5th highest goal-scorer in the nation. The Penguins announced they signed him on Tuesday. scoop85 Give My Regards Well, now I'm actually liking real life better. Yeah, and there goes the CHN tourney. Our record in the regional finals is as bad virtually as it has been in reality. Nice comment on the CHN game thread. William Ward Cornell averaged about 10 penalty minutes per game through this season....one of the lowest averages in all of Division 1. abmarks If I were him, no rush to make up my mind since there isn't anywhere to play at the moment. If by the end of the summer the pro teams are ready to play again, I'd assume he goes pro. But if it looks like no hockey restarts anywhere until January 1 (and assuming there is still an NCAA season to be played) it could be a much different choice. Smartest thought so far. Re: Trotsky's Fantasy Post-Season - 4 years ago
marty Trotsky The Selection Show results will be posted at Noon, so the forum is open until then for other opinions. Hint, hint. I'd flip Cornell and ASU to Albany with Mankato and Harvard in Allentown. That way if the high seeds won the second round in those two venues are 4 vs 5 and 2 vs 6. Your second round is 4 vs 6 and 2 vs 5. Agree, plus it actually brings some fans to Albany. Beby Jim Hyla - Hockey
