Re: Cornell - RIT Game Thread - 18 years ago
LaJollaRedI think that's new. Does anyone know how/where I can get free audio over the internet? Gametracker stinks. <------- Check the "Free Net Audio" link to the left First period over. Still 1-1. Sounds like we're doing a lot of hitting, but making a lot of mistakes. Quite a few odd-man rushes given up, not to mention the giveaway that led to the RIT goal.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: [OT lax] Greenhalgh's stunning debut for Wings - 18 years ago
Hillel Hoffmann (Don't laugh, almost 16,000 showed up.) Actually, the Wings regularly draw over 16,000. They play in the Wachovia center rather then the Spectrum, because it's the bigger venue. Good to see other cities drawing well. And now that I know Greenhalgh is with them, I definitely need to get down to Philly for a game.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros - Nov '05 - 18 years ago
I was at the Flyers game last night and during one of the commercial breaks they showed an ad on the big screen for the Phantoms which included a scene of Charlie Cook celebrating a goal (not his goal, mind you, but you could clearly read his name on his uni). Not as good as seeing it in person, but still nice to see him as "part of the team."by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: Polls 11/7 - 18 years ago
There were 3 or four teams last year that were TUC with less than a 0.500 record, all of whom were in the WCHA, CCHA (and HEA?). Because the criterion is RPI, not W/L, the mediocre teams that play a lot of games against the top teams (i.e. the conferences with good teams, but few teams) tend to get a bit of TUC favoritism by the current method.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: 4-Point Weekend - 18 years ago
Up until the 1980 ECAC tourney, there was no "somebody else, too" part to the cheer. We just did "Screw BU" no matter who we were playing. The "somebody else, too" part was added at the 1980 tournament. I think 1981 was the last year BU was in the ECAC, cause in 1981-82, Hockey LEast was formed. We've only needed the cheer for only BU sporadically since then.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 @ Brown 2 (OT 11/5) post-game thread - 18 years ago
Schafer said a while back it takes some time for "the system" to gel. I give him credit for knowing what he's doing. Hang onto your towel (don't panic). And on the subject of freshemen taking penalties, see: Krantz, Doug or O'Byrne, Ryan. It happens every year and they get better by March. It's a part of the learning and maturing process.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
