Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 8 weeks ago
Fair enough but the ECAc at Boston Garden (post HEA split) drew well.by arugula - Hockey
Re: ECAC Final - St. Lawrence?! - 8 weeks ago
Any idea if Seger is playing hurt? Not taking many face offs.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 8 weeks ago
adamw Jeff Hopkins '82 adamw Also - Albany is a sh*thole. It may be a shithole, but it's our shithole. You're right, I guess. I just wish that Lake Placid didn't rip off the fans. The woman checking me in at my hotel yesterday told me that all the hotels look forward to the ECAC tournament...so they can jack up their rates! I agree that sucks - and I've tried to get in the ear ofby arugula - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 8 weeks ago
I seem to recall that the Boston Garden was nearly full for the ECAC in the mid 80s. I get that we can’t go back there, but how about Barclays or UBS or the Prudential. I’m sure MSG is too pricy. In the highly likely event that Cornell is in the semi finals there will be a strong likely five figure not half empty crowd. Having the event in small to tiny markets guarantees small to tiny crowdsby arugula - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 8 weeks ago
If we win we may get to a three seed but with all the geographic shenanigans it doesn’t necessarily result in a favorable placement or matchup.by arugula - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 8 weeks ago
adamw Swampy arugula And we’re 13 in the pwr… The problem is that if we lose, I don't think the ECAC is a three-bid league this year no matter what the pwr says. The only thing that matters is what the Pairwise says. And the Pairwise says Cornell must win tomorrow to make the NCAAs. I was kidding. If we lose we drop to 16.by arugula - Hockey

I would say it’s shocking except recall how tough SLU was in Canton against us and against Q and Q does this every year.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 8 weeks ago
Pierre McGuire is doing color on the Q-SLU game. What’s he going to do with no Sidney Crosby to moon over? God I was hoping to not be subjected to him again.by arugula - Hockey
Re: What happened to PWR this year? - 2 months ago
Also didn't help that UMD had a rough year. It was assumed, at least by me, that UMD on the schedule would help our OOC and thus our RPI/PWR. Not so muchby arugula - Hockey
Re: MLAX: Cornell vs Princeton 3/17/24 - 2 months ago
rss77 Thought the Prnceton Defensemen did a great job on Kirst so great win with other individuals stepping up. Goldstein is eye opener and credit Jordan Stevens too. If Goldstein is half of his Dad, he will be greatby arugula - Other Sports

So many big schools preemptively turned down the nit. Odd. Feel bad for the kids.by arugula - Other Sports

Re: ECAC Playoffs 2024 - 2 months ago
Thanks for posting. Time management is huge. The kids come off as kids but a lot more serious seeming about school than the guys in my day when they were, shall we say, unserious. Also very impressed by Castagna’s shot. Really ripped it. Biggest takeaway:will Jimmy Rayhill get through four years without ever playing? Has that ever happened? Will coach find a game to get him in?by arugula - Hockey

Interestingly also an undrafted free agent. Malinski is better.by arugula - Hockey

How long have they been sick? Feels a little late for that to still be a reason. My daughter just returned to campus and said before break there was a virus going round but still?by arugula - Hockey

Going to see Dune 2 tonight so decided to watch Dune last night and catch the replay on espn+. Then it’s not there. Just as well I guess.by arugula - Hockey

ugarte Trotsky RichHHoly crap, this freaking thread. It will pass. You have to expect a creche of scalded babies when we've all suffered through this interminable skein of one loss in 15 games together.jfc greg what the scalded babies are experiencing is "regret for what might have been." our OOC schedule turned out, through no fault of our own, to be a dud, so our performance hasby arugula - Hockey
