No idea if this website is particularly accurate, but it has Cornell as the 4th team out. It seems to assume the committee will go straight down the RPI list. Cornell has two wins against teams they project in the field, Marist and UC Santa Barbara, but they are auto-bids with RPIs below Cornell. Otherwise, the best result is the draw with Syracuse RPI 56). TL/DR: ugarte is right, the seby mountainred - Other Sports

billhoward I'm trying to think, what are other schools named UNC -- Nebraska-Columbus, pop 25,000? It could have been the Univ. of Northern Colorado in beautiful Greeley, Colorado, about midway between Denver and the Wyoming line. They've been D1 for a couple of minutes. But nope, it was the UNC that is a basketball arena surrounded by a campus. Brown loses 94-87.by mountainred - Other Sports

At the half: Cornell 50 Lafayette 42 The guys have looked like the better team, LC has needed a bunch of threes to keep this close. Cornell is very aggressive on D and has a bunch of guys who can get to the basket.by mountainred - Other Sports

Yeah, Bingo is not very good, but better to win these games than lose them. A lot is going to ride on whether any bigs develop to help Dickson out. 16 offensive rebounds is way too many to give up. A better team will make Cornell pay for that. Still, 1-0 is better than the alternative.by mountainred - Other Sports

I know there was a topic for the pre-season poll, but thought a more general topic was appropriate. The season begins on Tuesday with a trip to Binghamton (okay, Vestal). Pretty much everyone who played significant minutes the last time there was a Cornell basketball game (612 days ago, as Cornell sports information seems to like to say) is gone, so I have no earthly idea what to expect thisby mountainred - Other Sports

Re: Cornell's men's basketball recruits - 3 years ago
Saw Cornell added two hoops recruits. Today there was an announcement of Guy Ragland, Jr., a 6-8 PF from Thomas More School. And sometime over the past few months -- time has lost meaning -- Brian Earl responded to Ken's complaints by signing a 6-10 center out of San Jose in Ryan Kiachian. Neither have other offers of note, at least according to Verbal Commits, but I'll look forward to watchingby mountainred - Other Sports

I thought Harvard also said they would allow up to 40% (including all freshman) to be on campus. If the freshman are a quarter of their students, that doesn't leave much other room.by mountainred - Other Sports

Rob Koll just circulated this quick video on incoming (Class of '24) recruits: . Two notes: First, no Greg D, which seemingly confirms the reports that he is taking a grey shirt season. Second, it does list include Jacob Cardenas, which would seem to contradict the rumors that he has decided to go to Ariz. St. Of course, who knows when there will actually be a season. While Coach Earl has no doubt been engaged in social distancing, he added one more recruit. Evan Williams is 6-7 forward from Plano East HS with a handful of low mid-major D1 offers. The list isn't great, mainly Southland schools, but it's probably the best of any of this year's recruits. The inevitable was, well, inevitable. I hate it for all the athletes, except maybe the Nitnies, but really feel for Noah who worked so hard to final make nationals. Did not see that coming (also did not see the game). 11 for 17 from behind the arc will play, but where the heck has that been all season? McBride found another gear after Jimmy's injury and Knapp found his shooting touch in the Ivy season. If they can maintain that level next season, plus a healthy Boeheim, there's a senior core for a decent run.* IMHO, the key will be whether Dickson andby mountainred - Other Sports

Just because I wanted to "scoop" ugarte once this season. EIWA pre-seeds are out. The pre-seeds are the starting point for seeding this weekend's qualifying tournament, though the coaches can change things at their meeting on Thursday. Of note to me: Tucker is #1 at 133, of course. Baughman is the #5 at 141. If he hits that seed, he finally qualifies for nationals. Hunteby mountainred - Other Sports

klehner ugarte Today was the National Collegiate Open - a pre-conference-tournament tournament for redshirts, greyshirts and backups. For what it's worth, we sent three of our top incoming freshmen (165 Ramirez; 174 Foca and 197 Cardenas) and Max Dean (still at 184) and all of them won. I don't really know how good the field was but none of them even had a close match. Dean hasn't missed a beat -by mountainred - Other Sports
