Re: Cornell 0 - 1 Hahvahd; 1st intermission - 14 years ago
I missed the goal. Was it a softy? Did Scrivens do well to try to make the save? leblanc beat scrivens on a shot from the slot. redcast video sucks so you can't exactly what happened.by tretiak - Hockey

Re: Cornell 0 - 0 Hahvahd; 1st period - 14 years ago
we dominated the first half, harvard had the better chances late and they capitalized. harvard's up on the road - we have them right where we want them.by tretiak - Hockey

Re: game video - 14 years ago
Does anyone know why the audio volume is so hard for them to keep constant? Do they have a monkey running around in the media box, ripping cables out and clawing at knobs? the rally monkey needs an offseason job. who are you to judge?by tretiak - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2-0 Dartmouth; 2nd period - 14 years ago
Per the rulebook: Penalty - Minor or major or disqualification at the discretion of the referee. Contact to the head shall be assessed in front of the infraction (ie: contact to the head - elbow). The Dartmouth player didn't avoid the big hit, but everything else was clean. That was not a roughing penalty. Also, remember that Jillson is small so his head was on the level with the Dartmouth pby tretiak - Hockey

5x3 against for two whole minutes. huge kill coming up, need to get back under control and escape with the lead hereby tretiak - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2-0 Dartmouth; 2nd period - 14 years ago
was hit a dirty hit? or was it a hard but clean hit? based on the replay: it was open ice, and the dartmouth player is a lot bigger than jillson. the radio guy called it an elbow, but i disagree. clean, hard hit. you have to keep your head upby tretiak - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1-0 Dartmouth; 2nd period - 14 years ago

Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
I find this result neither surprising nor discouraging for fans of women's hockey (the fact that you know of this website is somewhat more disturbing ). actually it's the first result that pops up when you google "high school boys beat us women's team" and the electronic articles weren't workingby tretiak - Hockey
Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
I hope I'm not beating a dead horse by adding what I think is an important point to this debate: just because women's hockey isn't a popular spectator sport doesn't mean the women should stop playing or some other such nonsense. No one, for instance, would willingly watch the hockey teams I play for unless they were a captive audience (wife, husband, child, parent, etc.), and typically there areby tretiak - Hockey
Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
Let me ask you this, have you ever really given it a shot? ever been to multiple games in a short period of time? ever made an effort to understand it? You have to stop comparing it to mens hockey because it is completely different. Try it with an open mind, and you might be surprised how much you enjoy it after to adjust your perception. Hmm...when I was a senior at Deerfield I was a student-aby tretiak - Hockey
Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
To someone who understands the flow of the game, the beauty of well executed breakouts, forechecks, power plays, penalty kills, and the other skilled portions of the game women's hockey is poetry on ice. Yeah Dpperk...no. Sit this one out, etc. etc. Aside from someone as skilled as Rebecca Johnston who is an absolute beast on the ice, women's hockey just doesn't cut it. It's slow and just toughby tretiak - Hockey
Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
It's possible that if all you care about is one team, then parents would appreciate that. apparently only some of you got the joke - women's hockey is awful to watch. i'd love reciprocity for away games too.by tretiak - Hockey
Re: 3-2 USA (Final) - 14 years ago
The good news is we get that goaltender next year. The bad news is we still have to deal with Scrivens for another year. Yeah fuck Scrivens! It's not like he ever played well in a game like that one time he stopped 43 shots in Princeton last year. Oh wait...by tretiak - Hockey
Re: REDCast for 2009-2010 - 14 years ago
there's a women's ice hockey season pass? seriously? it's a shame how cornell is trying to swindle the parents of the women's ice hockey team. ...now let me go hide. i can hear jerseygirl coming.by tretiak - Hockey

people actually booed him. have you seen him hand out the cup? he gets booed everywhere, and deservedly so. you can thank nj fans for starting that trend after he tried to move them to nashville in 95.by tretiak - Hockey

Re: UND vs Cornell in Jan. - 14 years ago
What would a Russian goaltender know? Pierogies. Lots and lots of pierogies. And borscht. Bland food...mmmmm And thank you for taking my snark in stride. To be fair, I did say the Thai places and Maxie's were good. I enjoyed eating there, and didn't know it was so highly rated. I just think that other downtown Ithaca restaurants (Boatyard, Joe's, John Thomas, etc) are overrated. Everytime Iby tretiak - Hockey
