ugarte 2 minute drill going incredibly well so far with Carothers and Wang runs, Laboy and Woodring catches. Clock management with the boundary and the first downs and Cornell is inside the 20. Fortunate to be leading at the half, but a pretty poor performance. I’m surprised that near TD wasn’t reviewed—sure look close to having his toe in. And on the next play the kid should have cut inside, aby scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 8 months ago
Colgate seems to know pretty much every play we’re running. As we know in-game coaching hasn’t been our strength. Good think we have Wang, as his talent is the only think keeping us afloat.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 8 months ago
But for the Colgate fumble, we’re being outplayed across the board. And as Al says, where’s Crothers? And I’ll add, what’s the deal with Tillman? He was by far our best back last year, and while he missed the last several games of the season to injury, he’s played some this year, but quite sparingly.by scoop85 - Other Sports

upprdeck I do agree that the level is probably going down.. which is good. last i knew though the tompkins waste water was not really being tested for campus water. Maybe that has changed. I know of 10 people sick in the last week.. I never had a single time during this where I actually knew more than 2-3 sick at a time.. When a single class has 15 kids out sick thats a bunch. upprdeck the big variable there is many people went and got tested in the spring.. at least those results got counted.. people testing at home are not included in any great degree so to see these numbers would point to it being even higher The article states that the wastewater samples shows a leveling off of cases, so it’s not testing dependent.by scoop85 - Hockey

True, but I agree with David. I covered several teams for the Sun in the early 80's, and today's Sun pales in comparison with the work we did.by scoop85 - Other Sports

Cornell scores two in the 2nd half to take down #7 ranked and defending National Champion Syracuse 2-1. The win breaks SU’s 20 game unbeaten streak dating back to last October.by scoop85 - Other Sports

ugarte Congratulations to World Champion Vito Arujau! A 10-9 victory over Magomedov that was only that close due to some dubious scoring calls (and an unwise challenge from Vito). Remarkable achievementby scoop85 - Other Sports

chimpfood Al DeFlorio 2-1 loss at UMBC. All goals on penalty kicks. Cornell outshoots 18-6 total and 8-4 on goal. Bizarre where both teams scored penalty kicks at 50:02.I wasn’t able to watch but saw that on the live stats and figured it was a mistake, what happened??? UMBC’s 2nd PK actually was a minute or two after Cornell tied it. We fell asleep a bit defensively right after our goal andby scoop85 - Other Sports

Trotsky No, what I mean is since when does a fair catch at the 4 come out to the 25? Also, that Contraception ad is great. I can't believe we finally learned how to do messaging after 40 years of utter incompetence. The fair catch on the KO has been a thing for a few yearsby scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 9 months ago
Trotsky 17-7 at the half. We took a fair catch at the 4 on the kick off and it came out to the 25. The fuck is that?. Yeah, Kiser’s our best weapon. I’m guessing he was told to do that, with is par for the course with our coaching decisions.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 9 months ago
Being that this is Cornell football, after looking totally inept all half, Lehigh moves down the field without any seeming resistance and scores to make it 17-7. They get the ball to start the 2nd half. We had every opportunity to put more points on the board, which may come back to bite us.by scoop85 - Other Sports

Al DeFlorio When the back who sets up nine yards from scrimmage runs Cornell gets nothing...same as last year. Run out of the shotgun. Our RBs seem to all tippy toe at the line of scrimmage. Need to see them run with more assertiveness.by scoop85 - Other Sports

BearLover By the way, how do you measure incoming class rank? I may have missed that, but I didn’t see it in your post. Cornell’s incoming class consists of five draft picks, which I believe is easily the most in the ECAC, but its incoming class is ranked #7. While I thought the overall analysis was good, the recruiting ranking made no sense. Neutral Zone ranked Cornell’s recruiting class #1 inby scoop85 - Hockey

chimpfood Cornell soccer takes a 1-0 loss to Vermont in the first game of the season. Cornell looked really good in the second half generating a lot of offensive chances but were shut down by the Vermont keeper. The only goal of the game was an unlucky deflection off of our defender but later in the game we had numerous dangerous tackles in our own box that easily could have been called. billhoward CAS …at Ithaca Beer Collegetown, for local Faithful The irony that at any such event like this, since December 1985 the players could not join in hoisting a mug of beer. Legally, at least. Given the extra year or two of juniors many of the players used before getting to Cornell, I imagine a fair number of them are of legal drinking age now.by scoop85 - Hockey

dag14 I know nothing about Eamon's high school lacrosse experience so I am just offering another hypothesis. Perhaps he was a late bloomer so not a star in high school? According to the book “We Showed Baltimore,” Eamon was the most highly sought recruit in the country his senior year, so that’s not the answer.by scoop85 - Other Sports
