[OT] Best sport facilities (Ivy League) - 20 years ago
Thinking of Andy Noel's comment in the Cornell Daily Sun to the effect that Lynah appears due for refurbishing got me to thinking: Who has the best sports facilities in the Ivy League? Even a old facility is great for the home team when it's big and it's packed (hello, Lynah). For lacrosse, Princeton's Class of 1952 field, a 4000-5000 seat facility apart from the football field, is just superb (aby billhoward - Hockey

Re: '04 - '05 Schedule - 20 years ago
If this is the schedule, Cornell's challenge is pretty clear: to make the NCAAs it will have to win the ECACs (always possible) or get there based on RPI and quality wins. You can see from the schedule the opportunity for quality wins outside the ECAC amounts to about four: the two Michigan State games awful early in the season, and the two Everblades classic games with SCSU, Maine, and BC. Al, I don't know if you were in Boston Garden personally, but do you recall Cornell (hockey) being up 3 goals on Wisconsin in 1972 (NCAA semis) in the final period and wondering if Cornell could hold a 3 goal lead then ... and it was not to be? Most of all, Cornell won and broke an 8-game losing streak against Princeton in the 12-11 OT win here in Princeton. Cornell can make the NCAAs (guaranteed) by winning its last game next week. Also: - It was impressive to see Cornell take the game to a top five team on their own field. - Cornell kept its composure most of the game and never let Princeton get up by more than a goal or two inby billhoward - Hockey
