Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - Yesterday
abmarks BearLover Iceberg BearLover Nice to see Princeton get destroyed in the NCAA tournament. But it will be nice when COVID eligibility goes away and the Ivies can compete with the Marylands of the world again. Did you not see any of the 2022 championship game? Nevermind the fact that Cornell was very competitive this season against some of the teams (including the #1 overall) in the NCAby scoop85 - Other Sports

Out of HS he had D1 offers from Idaho State, Air Force, and Army. Always intriguing to get someone of that size on the roster, and perhaps he blossoms into a good Ivy League player. CU77 I'm guessing here, but I think the #1 seed playing the late game is a League decision to mitigate the top seed's home-field advantage. When the ILT was at a neutral site, the #1 seed got the advantage of playing the early game. But prior to the switch to neutral NYC, the #1 seed always played the late game. But I would think one of the benefits of earning the #1 seed would be to be able toby scoop85 - Other Sports

BearLover CU77 BearLover I’m having a hard time seeing how Cornell could miss the NCAAs at this point. We are 9th in RPI and there are 18 NCAA spots. We had one bad loss the entire season, vs Penn State; the other three losses were by one goal. We blew a lot of teams out. I don’t see how the committee could leave Cornell out even if we lose next week. How many autobids could go to teams who wby scoop85 - Other Sports

dbilmes Ben Syer is taking over the Princeton program. Good luck to him except when they play Cornell! Congrats to Syer. Nice for him to get a D1 head coaching opportunity. Princeton has been a tough place to win consistently, but they have the best overall sports program in the Ivies, and if they give him the resources he may be able to elevate their program.by scoop85 - Hockey

The NHL’s Central Scouting Service’s final ranking was released yesterday. Gio Diguilian came in as the 124th ranked North American skater, up from 153 in the mid-term ranking. Unless I missed anyone he looks like the only Cornell recruit or player in the rankings.by scoop85 - Hockey

arugula BearLover Laughing at teams like BC/BU/NoDak/Quinnipiac losing just doesn’t hit the same when they’ve won national championships recently. (BU fans might try to claim 15 years is a long time, but to a Cornell fan it’s definitely not.) At the same time, each brutal loss by Cornell feels extra crushing because it’s been so long since we’ve won at hockey or lacrosse (“our sports,” as scoop85by scoop85 - Hockey

semsox Also really like this. I feel Jaques' own, somewhat unique, career progression/path (being a reserve for 3 years getting limited minutes followed by being an integral starter on the Sweet 16 team) will be fruitful in being able to recruit/develop/connect with players. Al DeFlorio chimpfood I like sudden death OT. Walk off goals are just electric. But a ridiculous way to decide a game when a goal is scored every two minutes. They did it right in 1976. Would you want sudden death in basketball? I’m fully on board with a full 4 or 5 minute OT period, followed by sudden death if we must.by scoop85 - Other Sports

CU2007 Yea sorry but he loses a lot of credibility saying Psenicka is a flight risk, barring something unknown (grades, off-ice issue, etc etc). I think he picked two big wingers in the lineup with decent numbers and just threw it on a page for clicks. Seems about rightby scoop85 - Hockey
