Re: Women 2022-23 - 1 year ago
Four current players (and seven alums) got invited to the Hockey Canada Summer Showcase. The current players are sophomore Ashley Messier and three members of the incoming class, Avi Adam, Sarah MacEachern and Mckenna Van Gelder. There's at least one committed recruit attending too. Basically, they're bringing together the senior national team, the NTDP and U18s for this event.by Weder - Hockey

ClarksonHockey Nice to see Cornell playing in the Nashville Thanksgiving weekend tournament. According to the Princeton schedule, they, Northeastern and Minnesota-Duluth are the other participating teams, so it's another strong field in Nashville. And I don't believe this is a bracketed event, so I'd assume that Cornell's opponents will be Northeastern and UMD.by Weder - Hockey

Chris '03 Iceberg wake So it now appears that the Cornell vs AIC games are a home and home series. First game 12/29 in Ithaca and second in Springfield. Ma on New years Eve. Curious as to the times of each game Turns out they're both at Lynah so I would expect a trip to Springfield in a future season Schafer doesn’t have the strongest record on reciprocal arrangements with AHA schools so Iby Weder - Hockey

Iceberg Al DeFlorio This is nuts. If I'm vacationing away from home I can't use my subscription to ESPN+? ESPN+ has never worked for me if I happen to be outside the US. I can’t remember if I’ve ever tried to use ESPN+ outside the US, but I’ve definitely watched live ESPN channels via my cable provider log-in while abroad (using a VPN).by Weder - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros 2021-2022 - 1 year ago
I think some of the geolocation things are a rights issue rather than an ESPN restriction. The ECAC has a deal with another provider for international rights to its games. That said, you can use ESPN+ anywhere in the U.S.; it sounds more like they are cracking down on multiple users logged in to the same account from different locations.by Weder - Hockey

Matt Moulson is retiring as a player. After an a 16-year pro career, including three seasons in Hershey, captain @MMoulson is retiring and moving into a scouting role with @MapleLeafs. We were lucky to have Matt in Hershey, and we'll miss his presence on and off the ice. Thank you, Mouls! pic.twitter.com/sfpV149nhD— Hershey Bears (@TheHersheyBears) July 11, 2022by Weder - Hockey

Re: Ertel to OHL - 1 year ago
BearLover Swampy Ertel's story reminds me of Tony Romano's. He also was a hotshot scorer (but 178th in the draft) who left Cornell for the OHL. I don't think he even got a cup of coffee in the NHL. I hope Ertel does.Ertel could be serving cups of coffee at Starbucks in a few years. billchu Player of the game (USA side) of the USA-Sweden semifinal was Grace Dwyer (Cornell '23-24) Player of the game (Canada side) of the Canada-Finland semifinal was Karel Préfontaine (Cornell '23-24). These next two years' recruiting classes are going to be insane. As far as I can tell, this is the most commits Cornell has had on a Canadian U18 team since 2008 (Lauriane Rougeau, Laura Foby Weder - Hockey

RichH billhoward Rentschler background info says "grass field." No quotes needed. The Rent often hosts US National Soccer games, both Men's and Women's teams. It should still be grass. billhoward April story on Matt Moulson, out of the lineup since December with Hershey Bears of the AHL. Moulson has been pretty healthy most of his pro career. He turns 39 this fall.
