Re: At Dartmouth Tickets - 21 years ago
I'm trying to get to a few more ECAC away games this year. I already have my tickets for Harvard. But I'm curious as to if I should purchase tickets in advance for Colgate, RPI, Union, Princeton, and Yale. Do any of these arenas sell out in advance? I imagine RPI might, but the others I'm thinking not. Also, since I'll be visiting student friends at RPI and Princeton, should I get them to purchby Will - Hockey

Re: Section G - 21 years ago
I was told last night that G wasn't even suppose to be sold to students and that next year only sections A, B, D, E, and F will be availiable to students. Personally, I'd be very disappointed in the university if that is what ends up happening because then less than half the rink would be availiable for student season tickets. That's already the case, since section C is a booster section (or whatby Will - Hockey
Re: Section G - 21 years ago
I agree, to a point, but we should be careful not to get into the cycle where G has to sit so H has an unobstructed view, then F has to sit so G has an unobstructed view, etc. Well, to be fair, I don't think that particular event will ever happen. F doesn't block anyone's view of the ice whatsoever. Now, if G wants to look at the ugly mugs in E, well, that's another story.by Will - Hockey
Re: Section G - 21 years ago
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention. At one point, I believe the cop directed one group of ejected students to look at the back of their tickets. I assume he was directing the students to the part that says, "Any person who engages in disorderly or disruptive conduct such as profanity and abusive or threatening language, or the throwing of objects, shall be subject to removal without refund.&qby Will - Hockey
Re: Section G - 21 years ago
The begged question is: how was this first handled with the folks in G? Were notes placed on their seats explaining the situation and asking their cooperation, or something similar? Or did things begin with threats and intimidation. I can only attest to what I witnessed. Some students in G had been standing (pushed by some of the louder fans in E and F into doing so, since G generally does sitby Will - Hockey
Re: [OT] Hot Truck or Louie's? - 21 years ago
This is the second time today (on this forum, no less) that I've been collectively labeled as a "facetimer". With respect to the Hot Truck example, I am no facetimer. I go there because I love the food. I go there because I love the people (the ones working inside the truck, not the drunks waiting outside the truck--they vex me far too often). This isn't to say that Louie's Lunch is a bby Will - Hockey
Re: Section G - 21 years ago
I stand for the games when I'm not obstructing people, but I sit when I am obstructing somebody. This isn't a question of civil liberties. It's politeness. Fine. But, as "Section H" just said, it seems as if the people in G aren't obstructing their view at any point, so it's a moot point. If it turns out later there were actually a number of complaints coming from H about the obstructeby Will - Hockey
Re: Section G - 21 years ago
My opinion...if the people in section H can't see the game because the students in section G, who did their time in the line just like all (well, most) of the other students, are standing and showing their support for Cornell Men's Ice Hockey, tough. They shound stand as well. There's a reason we shout "Townies up, townies up!" near the end of the game. We, the students, really do waby Will - Hockey

Re: copyrights - 21 years ago
At this point, it just seems like too much trouble to get both "Cornell" and "Harvard" on the shirts. However, I can't imagine either school having a problem with "Big Red" (or "Let's Go Red" or the like) and "Crimson". I know Cornell isn't the only Red/Big Red school out there, at the very least, so Cornell isn't necessarily implied in the shirby Will - Hockey

Re: Can the Belt get to Ithaca? - 21 years ago
Other than taking it from Harvard, how cool would it be to take the belt from BU, our age-old rivals, though? Particularly since BU is still consistently ranked in the top 15, while Harvard seems to be slipping out of the rankings already (thanks Brown ).by Will - Hockey
Re: Links to free audio broadcasts by Cornell's opponents - 21 years ago
In my opinion, the quality of Cornell on-campus dining has decreased overall. North Campus dining in RPCC and North Star (the new dining hall in the new Appel Commons community center, for those not in the know) is still decent, but nowhere near the "award winning" quality it was at four or more years ago (or back in '91 when John was here). Most of the other dining halls/facilities oby Will - Hockey

10 cents for net print when i bet it costs less than that to run it. Regarding this...I work in the CIT labs on campus. In training at the beginning of the semester, the Net-print guy told us that it does indeed cost a lot less than ten cents per page to run things. The cost is set at that level really to dissuade people from wasting paper. It's not a for-profit thing, it's a save-the-environby Will - Hockey

Re: Cornell at Harvard Tickets - 21 years ago
I'm under the impression that hockey isn't the biggest sport at Harvard, or else we wouldn't be able to get as many of our fans in there as we do each and every year. So my guess is that it's not all that difficult for the hated Crimson students to get season tickets to Harvard hockey.by Will - Hockey
