(OT) Sports Guy Does Hockey - 19 years ago
I know I've had conversations with people where we thought basketball should take a hockey-like approach to penalties: creating "power plays," rather than foul shots... were some of those conversations with posters here (I'm going senile early)? Either way, it excites me that the Sports Guy agrees! :Dby dss28 - Hockey

Re: Cornell alumni in the Pros June 2004 - 19 years ago
I think they just had general typos regarding 02-03 or just omitted it entirely; they listed Cornell as winning the ECAC Championships in the 2001-2002 season. Member of East Coast Athletic Conference-champion Cornell University, 2001-02. Unless that refers to the fact that they made an appearance in the championship game...? I dunno. Mistakes will be made... what can ya do... *shrug*by dss28 - Hockey

I can only speak as to what the Wolfpack did, but they brought NHL players who were still elligible, like Balej, down from the Rangers and had them play... readjusted lines and stuff on account of the "new" players. It's likely that Atlanta did something similar.by dss28 - Hockey

Preface: I haven't read ALL of this thread, so I don't know if it's been mentioned, but... I'd think that a pitcher throwing only 81 pitches across 9 innings would be pretty rare... Actually, has anyone ever done that? Truly a *perfect* game? ...is it even possible?by dss28 - Hockey

Re: (OT) Pat Tillman - 20 years ago
I agree. I couldn't figure out why anyone would want to draft someone who openly states that they would rather sit out a year and not play, rather than play for your team. I think it's a win-win situation... the only question remaining is, who will the Giants choose to start? Eli the soap star, or the bachelor?by dss28 - Hockey

Okay, in reading the TSN article, I came across this: Danton, formerly known as Mike Jefferson, was suspended twice by the New Jersey Devils, who eventually traded him to St. Louis last June. He had seven goals, 12 points and 141 penalty minutes in 68 games this season with the Blues. ...he changed his name? Does anyone have any information on why he might have? Is it just me, or has thby dss28 - Hockey
