Re: Alumni in the Pros Dec. '04 - 19 years ago
I was at both games, and as far as I know, Leneveu wasn't even there, let alone dressed. JMP, to his credit, kept both games very close... the first one was 2-1 Wolfpack, and JMP was one of the 3 stars of the game; the second game was 2-2 going into the third period, but three rather spectacular Wolfpack goals later...by dss28 - Hockey

Heh... I was at this Wolfpack game tonight... WOW delays. We were figuring we wouldn't be home until midnight I think my favorite penalty was "2 minutes for being the third man in an altercation." Check out the boxscore:by dss28 - Hockey

Re: Who stole whose cheers? - 19 years ago
A friend of mine who attended Boulder told me that they do the "We're gonna beat the hell outta you, rough 'em up rough 'em up go CU" at their football games (he also mentioned the cheerleaders yell "Buffalo, buffalo" instead of "rough 'em up"... no idea if that's the origin, though. But it's interesting to see we're not the only CU who does that cheerby dss28 - Hockey

I wonder if he wrote this, or if his lawyers did. Beeeej, you have any ideas? It sounds heartfelt... 11/8/2004 Mike Danton spoke to TSN via telephone on Monday. This is a transcript of his statement: Before I say my press release, there's something I need to say to set the record straight. i didnt feel bad for that kid. if he didn't try to take on the entire section and throw shit at us and curse at us, no one would have bothered him Picking on that kid turned out to be the highlight of my evening. Yes, I know I am an evil person, no need to point it out. Although he was less annoying than the speciments that went into Cornell's section at Colgate last year. Agreed on both accoby dss28 - Hockey

Re: Best cheers, best insults - 19 years ago
My uncle was saying that while he was there (he graduated in '81), they used to attack the fan-encompassed side twice, and was disappointed that they'd changed it. He theorized it was probably giving Cornell too much of a psychological advantage over the opposing goalieby dss28 - Hockey
Re: Penalty for Throwing Fish - 19 years ago
Does anyone know if similar penalties are assessed to Princeton (or is it Dartmouth?) when they throw tennis balls at the opposing goalie? Maybe where they draw the line is what could physically affect a player. A fish smacking you in the face is (theoretically) going to affect you a lot more than a crumpled up newspaper. ...I dunno.by dss28 - Hockey

Check this out: FBI: Wolfmeyer had chances to get out Associated Press 9/8/2004 EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - Katie Wolfmeyer's best friend staunchly defended her Wednesday at the 19-year-old's trial on murder-for-hire charges. Katie Gruenloh, who was called to the stand by the prosecution, said she's known Wolfmeyer for about eight years. ``The girl wouldn't hurt a fly,''by dss28 - Hockey

Re: Montoya/Bochenski - 19 years ago
Okay, this isn't the article I was remembering, but it's close enough: Whether or not there is an NHL work stoppage, the AHL will definitely play a full 2004-05 season. Furthermore, in the event of a lockout, only veteran players, predominantly those on NHL rosters, would be affected. Our player supply would remain uninterrupted and the level of play in the AHL and here in Manchester would strby dss28 - Hockey

Re: NHL Draft - Profiles - 19 years ago
Will Montoya get much playing time, though? I mean, if we are to assume that he most likely will go to the AHL to begin his career... and I haven't heard any rumors about LaBarbera (League MVP in the AHL this past season) moving up to the Rangers... unless he goes to the ECHL, I honestly wonder how much he'll play...by dss28 - Hockey
