Re: CCT @ Cornell, 2/19/22 - 2 years ago
Can someone who understands Pairwise better than I do tell me if we can *officially* stop paying attention to it? If we win the next 5 straight including @Quinnipic next week and vs.Quinnipiac in Placid semis, but lose to say Clarkson in the ecac final, is it possible we get an at large?by CU2007 - Hockey

Re: cornell covid testing - 2 years ago
upprdeck masks come off and numbers on campus go right back up. around town yesterday its way less than 50/50 in most stores/shops. I saw people walk up to panera see they still wanted masks and they turned around, and got in the car and left. 40 positives on campus wed But the counter argument is all 40 of those people are probably totally fine or have the sniffles. So, who cares?by CU2007 - John Spencer Is Dead

Ken711 ugarte Cornell fights back to go up 55-53 then gives up back-to-back corner threes and Dartmouth closes on an 18-4 run and wins 71-59. That's all she wrote, post season hopes over. Cornell started the season well but fades at the end. Ken I love your passion in the Football thread but this isn’t true. The season probably comes down to tomorrow. If we lose, it’s probably over. Al DeFlorio upprdeck How many people watch crew other than close friends and Alums for almost a whole career of racing. Its no different than many other college sports.. Trotsky rickylipsey Love all of the heartfelt chatter in these game logs, but let's face facts: Cornell is just not that good. The scores don't lie. Wins and losses are how teams are judged. Winning teams make good breaks and good luck fall their way; losing teams the opposite, No very good team loses and ties a slew of bottom-dwelling teams for weeks on end. Dafatone CU2007 Dafatone Just gonna say, watching crowds in our games be largely masked makes me jealous. If crowds did that here (South Dakota), I'd be in more crowds. Serious question, not trying to be insulting or anything, what would make you comfortable being maskless in an arena again? Is it a certain (low) number of local cases? The CDC saying you don’t need a mask in an arena? In allby CU2007 - Hockey

BearLover Roy 82 BearLover Lots of IMO baseless takes in this thread. This is not a “different team” from what we saw earlier this season. Cornell was in basically the same position in the PWR (somewhere in the 20s) for almost the entire first half. They tricked a lot of poll voters and forum posters by barely beating, or tying and then beating in OT, crap teams. And it certainly isn’t true thatby CU2007 - Hockey
Re: @ RPI Fri 2/11/22 - 2 years ago
Unfair to put any of this funk on Ben Syer, and that is not to detract from Schaefer’s importance. To me, it’s a combination of some bad luck (happens to every team over the course of a long season), injuries, and some suspect goaltending. Like someone else said, we are outplaying teams in a lot of these losses. This too shall pass.by CU2007 - Hockey

Re: Opponents and Others, 2021-22 - 2 years ago
Here’s something. Doesn’t the committee claim to use something similar to Pairwise but not the actual Pairwise? Is it possible if we beat a bunch of bad teams the rest of the way, coupled with others around us losing games here and there, and move up to say 7th or 8th in the polls but say a spot or two outside the Pairwise “cut off” that we get into the tourney? I’m not an expert but I thought thby CU2007 - Hockey
