Re: Cornell at Yale (2/25/23) - 1 year ago
There were quite a few people standing, too. The rink was definitely full of people and full of energy as you would hope and expect for a Saturday game. Lots of Cornell people in attendanceby Iceberg - Hockey

Give My Regards dbilmes Yale coach Allain started his third-string goalie, Hopkins, last night because he's a senior and it was his last regular season game. His goals against average and save percentage is much worse than either of the goalies ahead of him. Not that it would have necessarily made a difference, but it certainly didn't hurt our chances. That may be why Allain started Hopkins, whby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Yale (2/25/23) - 1 year ago
chimpfood Weak backhand shot with no screen set sneaks through, Hopkins blows. I was at the other end of the ice and could even clearly see that was a weak goal. Heavily swung the complexion of the game. I happened to be sitting in front of some Yale students and talked to them for a bit. They were rather disappointed in the skeleton crew of a band that showed up in addition to wondering wby Iceberg - Hockey

Senior night at Ingalls and it'll probably be nicer inside the rink than it is outside right nowby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: #13 Cornell at Brown, Feb 24 - 1 year ago
Yeah, there was a whole area for beer at the end where Shane was located for two periods. The Brown band was passive but there was a decent showing of students in the crowd, although most seemed to be athletes themselves. Meehan would be a good place if it were filled but it's just so spacious that it looks bad if there aren't enough peopleby Iceberg - Hockey

CU2007 Two things - it’s a big failure on the league’s part that there is such confusion over the Ivy League standings - even amongst devoted fans like this page. Amateurish Caron is a great goalie. Type of goalie a good team could lose in the ECAC quarters 2-1(OT) in game 1 and 1-0 in game 3. Masks a truly awful Brown team Indeed. One could tell it was a frustrating game for him becauseby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: #13 Cornell at Brown, Feb 24 - 1 year ago
That was a heck of a move by Wallace. In general the forwards are having a field day with whatever defensive scheme Brown is running, aside from just being quicker overallby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: #13 Cornell at Brown, Feb 24 - 1 year ago
The kind of contact on Kovich is what would typically be called a penalty, but a referee was right there and didn't call anything. I've seen less clear stuff than that called for 5by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: #13 Cornell at Brown, Feb 24 - 1 year ago
scoop85 Nothing "crisp" about our game halfway through And neither was the one that Caron just let in. He'd definitely like to have that one backby Iceberg - Hockey

Al DeFlorio Iceberg I get to see tonight whether Meehan is really the mausoleum that people claim it to be It is. Trust us. Well, the band is here, so that'll add some life to the placeby Iceberg - Hockey

Scersk '97 arugula Have you noticed that we always seem to have small goalies? Watching Shane, he just kind of shrinks into the net. We don’t need a 6’6” keeper like Clarkson, but 6’1” would be good. They claim Shane is 6’0”. Lol. Don't get me started. I know everyone (else) loved Andy Iles… But I saw Yale open him up like a bad can of tuna in Atlantic City his freshman year, and I thinkby Iceberg - Hockey

WTF did I watch tonight. And if this weekend was any indication, I expect the games at Brown and Yale to be dogfightsby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Clarkson vs. Cornell 2/17/23 - 1 year ago
Yeah, I'm amazed these rinks don't have overhead cameras. It was damn hard to tell whether or not Bancroft's attempt was actually a goal. It sure looked like the puck hit the top of the net and bounced out.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Clarkson vs. Cornell 2/17/23 - 1 year ago
Trotsky How??? Poor defensive game. I don't think any of the pairings had a particularly spotless night. And even then, the game was still within reachby Iceberg - Hockey

I wouldn't be surprised if they kick out Malinski for that. The dude had his head down but this is college, so...by Iceberg - Hockey

TimV Thanks. I'll see them play UAlbany on Saturday. Anybody else going? I will be watching from far away on my computer. The one time I went a few years ago, I think my legs turned to icicles from sitting in the stands too long. And that was in Marchby Iceberg - Other Sports

Yale is charging $25 a head (!!!) for their Senior Night game at the end of this month when Cornell visits, which was a bit of a shock for me. Actually, many tickets for that game have already been soldby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: RPI vs. Cornell 2/3/23 - 1 year ago
marty Iceberg If RPI had scored on their own net on that last power play, does anyone remember who the last Cornell player to touch the puck was? Let's check the video. Seems like Andreev was the last Cornell player to touchby Iceberg - Hockey
