75er Wisconsin used the sieve cheer to great effect in the 3rd period of the 1973 NCAA semifinal in the Boston Garden. I recall being a bit intimidated... Agreed. It was an eerie sound. Each "sieve" was drawn out in a long, haunting wail, like an accusing ghost, not the the staccato "Sieve, sieve, sieve" that Cornell students adopted.by David Harding - Hockey

A few weeks ago Conan O'Brien mentioned a letter he had written to E.B. White as a high school junior and the letter White had written back. O'Brien still has that framed letter from White. It turns out that the the Cornell Archives still has the letter that O'Brien wrote to White and dug it out. Yay Archives! E.B. White was kind enough to respond to my letter. I don’t think newspapers would be a problem, but you should check the MSG website to see what restrictions they may have about bringing in outside food.
