Re: New indoor campus recreation & sports center - 2 years ago
Strongly disagree with the above sentiment. Expect the proposed recreation center will be used by thousands of students who are not varsity athletes.by CAS - Other Sports
Re: New indoor campus recreation & sports center - 2 years ago
Again, as of a year ago, the two sites under consideration for this building were both on campus.by CAS - Other Sports
Re: New indoor campus recreation & sports center - 2 years ago
Believe Cornell was considering two on-campus sites - don’t know what was ultimately decided. The project is included in Cornell’s 2021-2 capital budget, & mentioned in a recent Andy fundraising email.by CAS - Other Sports
New indoor campus recreation & sports center - 2 years ago
It appears Cornell has completed fundraising & will begin construction on a new $25 million indoor facility. This should greatly benefit lacrosse, football, & the general student population.by CAS - Other Sports

Re: Class of 2025 - 3 years ago
The Washington Post had a recent story that Cornell received 17,000 more applications than the year before, up about a third from the prior year. So Argula, congrats again your daughter was admitted in an incredibly competitive year (69,000 total applications, maybe an 8% admit rate).by CAS - Hockey
Re: Class of 2025 - 3 years ago
Congrats Arugula - you can look forward to sitting in the student section. Fwiw, Cornell reported they received over 9,000 ED applications this year (vs last year’s 6,630, which was the prior record).by CAS - Hockey
Re: Recruits beyond 2020 - 3 years ago
C rated by NHL Central Scouting means he projects as a late round NHL draft pick. He was a big scorer prior to his year with Waterloo. Seems to be an intriguing prospect. Can’t wait to see him in Lynah.by CAS - Hockey

Fwiw, Penn has also invited all students back to campus. Philly has had a much higher incidence of Covid-19 than Ithaca. Ithaca has had relatively few cases & no deaths to date.by CAS - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Incoming Recruits - 3 years ago
One advantage Cornell hockey may have over other hockey playing Ivies is that Cornell has invited all students back to campus in the fall. Even though games won’t be played in the fall, Cornell hockey players will be able to train & practice. The other hockey Ivies invited only some of their students back. Harvard invited only 40% of their students back to campus. Question whether Harvardby CAS - Hockey

Re: Indoor Practice Facility - 4 years ago
On the lax town hall, Andy reiterated that $18.5 million of the $25 million total cost (including a $2MM maintenance endowment) had been raised for the indoor practice facility. He said the project has President Pollack’s full support & was confident it would be built.by CAS - Other Sports

Incredibly Buczek & Stevens are less than 5 years from their Cornell graduation (class of ‘15). No question they can relate to the current players.by CAS - Other Sports

Re: Indoor Practice Facility - 4 years ago
Andy said, on a recent football podcast with Dave Archer, that $18.5MM has been raised for the indoor practice facility (about 75% of total cost). Would be used by football, lacrosse, club teams. & intramurals. Get out your checkbooks. Would be a large, free standing building. And a game changer.by CAS - Other Sports
