Re: Cornell @ St. Lawrence, 2/24 - 2 months ago
ugarte scoop85 George64 I’ve watched and rewatched our two extra-man goals against SLU, 6 skaters versus 5. More players clogging up the ice than on our power plays, yet we scored twice in 91 seconds. What was different? IMO, a greater sense of urgency! We didn’t dick around looking for the perfect set up. We didn’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Excellent pointthe counterpoint,by George64 - Hockey

Swampy IIRC, the GPA of my graduating class in Engineering in the late 1960s was 2.7. In the early ‘60s, the all-men’s average was about 2.7, the all-women’s a bit higher. I recall scoring in the high 20s on an exam and beating the class average.by George64 - Hockey

George64 Oppenheimer, “The epic thriller chronicles the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the enigmatic American scientist who ran the Manhattan Project — which led to the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II.“ As Hans Bethe, Richard Feynman and Paul Olum (had a class with him, BTW) all worked on the Manhattan Project, I think Cornell may get a mention. George64 The book, Boys in the Boat, was great, the documentary was great, the movie should be terrific, too. As I recall, Cornell was prominently mentioned in the book, so we should get a mention in the movie. Finally saw the movie, not nearly as good as the book, so I decided to reread it. George64 upprdeck I was reading a book on Ty Cobb and there is a mention that in 1900-01 a pro baseball coach drove a car into into an unlit Cornell Swimming pool. Re: NIL - 2 months ago
Interesting article in today’s Rochester D&C. Arguably, college athletes, or any student with some notoriety, should be able to benefit through NIL, but should the university abet the practice? The article points out that it might affect even minor sports. How will this work out for the Ivies in this era of free agency? How will a free oil change and tune-up from Cutting Motors competeby George64 - John Spencer Is Dead

George64 George64 Trotsky She could have said "freedom of expression means what it says, asshole" and walked out.
