Re: Hobey Baker Fan Voting - 21 years ago
Indeed...even if we're not voting for the same order of players (personally, I'm doing it as LeNeveu/Bâby/Murray), we should all be sure to vote each and every day to get our players up there. No, I take that back. We should vote for who we really think are the best players in the nation, regardless of the team. In my vote for LeNeveu at least, I know I can hold true to that notion sinceby Will - Hockey
Re: forgotten cheer - 21 years ago
their interim coach is now in a pattern of playing one goalie until he loses, and then going with the other. Okay, I didn't know that, my bad. All I know is that, according to USCHO, Walsh has the fourth lowest GAA in NCAA hockey (using their 33% of a team's games minimum). Even if Walsh has a losing record against Cornell, given that should Clarkson be able to sweep the weekend, they might moby Will - Hockey
Re: forgotten cheer - 21 years ago
You think Clarkson would dare to start their second string goalie against the #4 team in the country, particularly since Walsh is a fairly good goalie himself? I don't think so. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we'll see Walsh in net this weekend.by Will - Hockey
Re: [OT] Sarah Hughes TV Special, Dec. 25 - 21 years ago
I just checked TV Guide's online listing and it lists the Sarah Hughes special at the time and day Beeeej listed.by Will - Hockey
Re: Above it all - 21 years ago
I hate to be a pessimist, but I think I'm with littleredfan on this. We'll lose in a close game. But I also get the feeling we'll get the chance to redeem ourselves in the NCAA tournament and beat Maine there. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.by Will - Hockey
Re: OT: Cornell to name new prez today - 21 years ago
Slight modification to what I said earlier...apparently, the tickets given to the kid were tickets to the games in Estero in a few weeks. So I don't know if 'facetimer' is a fair label or not. In any case, he's damned lucky to be able to get to see the Big Red, in sunny Florida no less.by Will - Hockey
Re: LeNeveu and World Juniors - 21 years ago
Congratulations are in order for LeNeveu. I'm happy for him.by Will - Hockey

Adam '01 wrote:I know it's great to be the king's son and everything, but why couldn't that kid just wait on line for hockey tickets like everyone else?? Because he's probably just a facetimer, albeit now a very powerful facetimer. I hope I'm wrong, of course, but I'm betting that's the case.by Will - Hockey
Re: Maine v. Harvard - 21 years ago
Princeton this year is an embarrassment to American college hockey. The Brits probably think they can have their way with us now. Bloody hell.by Will - Hockey
Re: LeNeveu and World Juniors - 21 years ago
Have any players played in the WJC (for Canada or even the US) before they came to Cornell? I know not many players are 18 when they first matriculate as freshmen.by Will - Hockey
Re: Just in case you missed it... - 21 years ago
Thank you, Age, for clarifying my point. That msg was pretty coherent...me thinks you need to pay more attention to that squabble with your girlfriend! I was already in the middle of composing that post when the fight started, Rich. AIM just isn't the proper battlefield in which to have a lovers' quarrel.by Will - Hockey
Re: Just in case you missed it... - 21 years ago
Maybe it's more of an Ivy League thing than an ECAC thing. Ivy teams play less games throughout the year, and everyone knows that, so Harvard and Cornell (and of course the other four Ivies) have that added cross to bear when proving themselves on the national stage. What's good for the Ivies is certainly good for the ECAC as a whole--the fact that Ivy teams are currently dominating the ECAC stby Will - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd vs. BC - 21 years ago
I can just imagine the looks on your faces as you said that. Nevertheless, just know that it was all for the best of the ECAC and Cornell. Harvard winning is best for Cornell...does...not...compute! *head explodes*by Will - Hockey
Re: Maine v. Harvard - 21 years ago
Ah, thank you Beth! I'll be sure to tell my girlfriend that, since she inquired. She's a current Cornell student from the great state of Maine who is also consequently a UMaine fan. Naturally, after a year or two here in sunny Ithaca, she has also become a Big Red fan, but she seems to have trouble choosing between the two. Actually, in reality, I think she leans towards UMaine...grr...you doby Will - Hockey
Re: OT: LOTR - 21 years ago
You could probably thank the advent of selling movie tickets online for your failure to purchase tickets, John. That's the only way to do things nowadays. Never underestimate the power of geeks with internet connections in mass quantities.by Will - Hockey
Re: Maine v. Harvard - 21 years ago
I want to know why they're playing in Portland as opposed to the usual home location for Maine (whose name slips my mind right now and I'm too lazy to go look it up myself).by Will - Hockey
Re: The Polls... - 21 years ago
A & B were making fun of him just because he was a big guy? Kind of mean, I guess, but the fans made fun of that short BU player as well a few weeks ago. Maybe that was wrong too? I don't know. I wasn't there, so maybe I shouldn't criticize one way or the other.by Will - Hockey
Re: The Championship Belt - 21 years ago
Cornell has never had the belt. There is some listing of it somewhere but I forget where right now.by Will - Hockey

I feel stupid for asking this, but...what happened with the Colgate pep band leader?by Will - Hockey
Re: Harvard, team to beat in ECAC? - 21 years ago
With any luck, the next time our boys play Yale, it won't matter (much) if the Red win or lose. I believe that is the last regular season game of the season, and hopefully our boys will have clinched home ice by that point.by Will - Hockey

Re: The Polls... - 21 years ago
We have to move past Denver at least. They got swept by CC this weekend. Moving past BC is possible as well, as CC is bound to move up a notch.by Will - Hockey
Re: Odd picture - 21 years ago
Geez, Undy sticks out like a sore thumb in that picture, too, doesn't he? Oh well. It's still a good picture.by Will - Hockey
Re: "Kicked In" Goal - 21 years ago
Yup, definitely kicked in. I had a good view of it from F as well. The ref was right to waive it off.by Will - Hockey
Re: Taking Penalties... - 21 years ago
A shorthanded hat trick? As in, all three goals were scored while the other team had the power play? Wow, that's impressive.by Will - Hockey
Re: Saturday BU updates - 21 years ago
I've heard for months now that Marr is pretty good, so now I want to "see" (in a manner of speaking) him prove it on the ice. This seems like the perfect opportunity, starting him against WMU in preparation for possibly starting him against Maine. (Nothing against Chabot, of course, but I've heard more about Marr.)by Will - Hockey
