Re: MSG Hockey v. Michigan - 12 years ago
marty css228 ansky629 It would also work because there would be one team from each of the big 4 conferences. There would be no NCHC teams... and Notre Dame is joining HE so there would only 3 of the Big 4. Assuming the ECAC isn't considered the fifth league after the big shift. I'm pretty sure that spot is reserved for the Whateversleft Collegiate Hockey Association.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Jersey Mockups - 12 years ago
RichH We have had one-weekend "alternate" jerseys over the past 10 years that were auctioned off for charity. I can't find pictures of that first one with the block "C" and the wide white stipe at the middle, but that was acceptable for a one-time charity thing.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Announcing the College Hockey News iPhone App! - 12 years ago
Version 1.2.1 is now available. It fixes a nasty crashing bug with iOS 4 from version 1.2. 1.2 added pregame notifications for your favorite team as well as final score and breaking news alerts for your favorite team.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Consecutive shutout minutes at Lynah? - 12 years ago
Since you brought it up, I'm rewriting the code for the database and am including provisions for rule and format changes. Most recently, we've had the change of delayed penalty goals still resulting in a power play. Anyone want to tackle a canonical list of changes over time (Lynah era, anyway)? OT length, format, those godforsaken playoff mini-games, etc...by CowbellGuy - Hockey

jtwcornell91 RichHI like the school crest on the shoulders, but not the bear logo (why asymmetric patches?) I object to including the "I Would Found an Institution for Dummies" simplified coat of arms any more than it already is. For me, this will always be the real coat of arms: At the risk of sacrilege, I do like the coat of arms on the Hahvahd hockey jerseys, especially the dby CowbellGuy - Hockey

I fully expect a hat trick from him in every game from here on out. You're welcome.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Jim Hyla Off subject some, but is there a way to watch Redcast on an iPhone? I'm away for the Clarkson game and that may be my only access. Nope.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Paul Milstein Hall - 12 years ago
I don't think there's a problem with every building looking similar a la Princeton, but when every building looks almost identical with exactly the same facade to the point where when you're standing in the middle of a group of them you have no idea where on campus you are, I see that as a bit of a problem.by CowbellGuy - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Paul Milstein Hall - 12 years ago
The campus itself is very nice, but there's something disturbing about nearly every building looking likeby CowbellGuy - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Paul Milstein Hall - 12 years ago
Kyle Rose Right now IMO it's a mishmash of conflicting styles that just looks cluttered Have you seen Penn State's campus? Every building has the exact same facade. It's all rather Orwellian and boring. I'm happy with the mishmash as long as the buildings are interesting*. Keeping distinct zoning only works until you need to build that next building and there's no space for it. *Uris Haby CowbellGuy - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: ELynah Forum Update - 12 years ago
Just tried in Chrome and it worked fine. Was your connection being slow to load or something? I could disable the button as soon as it's pressed.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: ELynah Forum Update - 12 years ago
The iPhone version was incomplete and kind of buggy. The author started it but never finished it and since you can't get to lots of features I turned it off. Time permitting, I'd consider trying to finish it, but I don't think it's too terrible just using the full site.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: ELynah Forum Update - 12 years ago
Not at the moment, but the data's in there so it's just a matter of writing it.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: ELynah Forum Update - 12 years ago
The thank/flame count is now shown on each user's profile page, the total rating for a thread is shown in the list view, and a link for "Top Users" in the control panel bar now works (after much wrangling of buggy, buggy code). The author didn't bother implementing the "top threads" function despite putting a stub for it, so, time permitting, I'll add that.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Jim Hyla Robb TrotskyAnd huge thanks again to Age for making it possible. Donate button is over there ================================================================> (not just for Trotsky, for all of us!)Agreed, but he should move the donate button near the top. Be a better businessman, Age. We all want you to succeed. If I were treating ELynah as a business there would still be Googleby CowbellGuy - Hockey

ACM Besides the fact that I can't seem to find it, or log in to it, it seems to be working well. And, you know, the first post in this thread.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: ELynah Forum Update - 12 years ago
Typical (Jerk). Found a mod for rating messages, but it was completely borked. Rewrote a good chunk of it and now it works. For the moment, ratings will just show when reading, but eventually, there will be rating info shown for each user and a top-rated posts thingy. Rate away!by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: lles is not the answer - 12 years ago
Hopefully Kris Mayotte will be able to help him along. It's been a while since Cornell had a goalie coach. I suspect he'll be fine on most nights.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: CU Hockey-Preseason - 12 years ago
It's an issue at tourneys where there's an early game and the person responsible for the scores forgets to change the game ID before the second game. =/ ajh258 TimV Just read yor post, clicked the link, and saw Dartmouth just beat Yale 3-2. Look out for Dartmouth.I think it's a mistake. The game isn't set to start until 7PM. Edit: Hmm... now double checking on ECAC's site, it appears theyby CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: CU Women's Hockey-Preseason - 12 years ago
I think all the problems are with the third party handling it for Cornell, either software or hardware locally or at their broadcast server (which is not on campus, to my knowledge). Cornell's redundant OC3s aren't the problem. It's too bad my bid wasn't accepted because I'm sure the quality would have been far superior. Maybe they wanted to go with a package deal for all sports. Maybe my mail weby CowbellGuy - Hockey

@JohnMcGrawPBP You know you've made it as a college hockey announcer when you've been zinged as a "shrieking homer" by a poster on @Elynah. Re: CU Hockey-Preseason - 12 years ago
The road reds still aren't exactly right. They're the same as last year's where the white stripe at the bottom extends all the way down (instead of another red stripe below it). The whites are fully back to the way they were, though (including white below the bottom red stripe).by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Announcing the College Hockey News iPhone App! - 12 years ago
Version 1.1 is now live! You can now view rosters for each team, a game detail page with rosters and live in-game scoring information, as well as rewritten team, pairwise, and standings views. And of course, lots of bug fixes. Have at it!by CowbellGuy - Hockey
