Re: Cornell games VHS to DVD - 12 years ago
I've been working on my workflow going from DVDs to edited MPEG-4 files and pretty much have it down. I've also done the two NCAA games from this year. The beginning of the Michigan game comes from the HQ feed from ESPN3 until the proper broadcast starts. Those games weigh in at a few GB each. Torrents seem like the way to go to get the files out, but that initial seeding will be a bit of a bitchby CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: 2012 TBRW Awards - 12 years ago
css228I never got the impression that Ferlin wasn't a team player, but I was just in awe of his puck possession skills. He was like a one man cycle out there. You're kind of contradicting yourself right there. I don't think anyone's saying Ferlin's an asshole. I believe what was inferred was that he was a puck hog. He was actually learning to play with his line by the time he got hurt.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Going to have to disagree somewhat on Gotovets for Gage. He's not supposed to be in a supporting role. Not making smart decisions is what landed him in said role.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Aaron M. Griffin Speculation is over. Cornell hosts Colorado College at Lynah Rink on October 26 and October 27. Two of seven non-conference games confirmed officially. There may have been speculation about the date, but one need hardly speculate about Schafer's reciprocation policy.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: Embedded Tweets! - 12 years ago
Yeah, yeah. Perils of messing with a production server. Was switching to an updated version of the mod. All is well now.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: ELynah Forum Update - 12 years ago
And just to be clear, I have nothing against the rating concept. It was just a terrible mod that I had to modify extensively just to make it work at all, and it barely did at that. If someone writes a better one, I'll be happy to implement it. I did write the Twitter mod from scratch, but I was more motivated to make that happen because I find it a lot more useful. Writing a new ratings mod is noby CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: ELynah Forum Update - 12 years ago
Also, I'm sorry but I had to ditch the +1 thing. It was buggy and apparently really inefficient with database calls. It was very noticeably slowing down page loads and putting unnecessary burden on the server.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: 2012-13 Schedule - 12 years ago
Well, some of those filler games tend to be booked late. Sacred Heart or Niagara on a Tuesday certainly aren't planned years in advance, so until the schedule's done, it can't really be announced. I still don't think how good the team is has any bearing on the quality of schedule. It doesn't matter how bad the team might be, if Schafer could schedule a home-and-home with a Denver or Michigan, I'mby CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: 2012-13 Schedule - 12 years ago
Aaron M. Griffin CowbellGuy I think you're all reading too much into it. He schedules the best teams he can get, but he's also pretty adamant about his reciprocation policy, so that's limiting. And these things are often scheduled a couple years ahead of time. It's just a coincidence. Not to be contrary, but I know in the case of college football schedules are announced well in advance (seasonsby CowbellGuy - Hockey

Trotsky CowbellGuy TrotskyHere's the list. The height and weight you have for Patrick McCarron might have been correct at some point in his life, but is decidedly no longer accurate Thanks. He's now listed as 6-1 171... just a 31 pound difference. You're getting warmer...by CowbellGuy - Hockey

jtn27 jtn27 Not to stir up any controversy, but according to Mark Anbinder, De Swardt probably shouldn't have gotten a game misconduct for his hit. Looks like this is the final list. Changed the FSNOR+ channel number and it finally showed up in the guide under channels I receive, so they should all be viewable to folks with the DTV Sports Pack.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: NCAA Regional Comprehensive TV Schedule - 12 years ago
Denver-Ferris State on Altitude has been confirmed. NESN is picking up BU-Minnesota and that's been confirmed, so the only iffy live broadcast is Maine-Duluth, which is on Fox Sports Net North+, an overflow RSN channel. It shows up in the guide, but no programming has appeared yet.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Here's the list of all televised games that I've compiled for this weekend. As I confirm or find additional listings, I'll keep the list updated. If you have DirecTV, I've included channel numbers. Of course, if you have ESPN3, you can stream all of them live. Friday March 23 Time Teams Live TV Delayed TV 3:00pm Michby CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: Harvard 6 Cornell 1 ECAC post-game - attendance - 12 years ago
RichH Rutgers is an interesting example, as it is the State University of NJ, as everyone from NJ knows, but I wouldn't expect the folksy folks of Iowa to be aware of that. They would probably get a big boost in revenue by going to an UNJ (or some such permutation) moniker. Associating yourself with New Jersey is probably the exception to the rule.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
