Video of the Malott injury/“penalty” for those who haven’t seen: Bad looking knee injury for Jeff Malott, who needed assistance getting off the ice and went directly to the locker room. Was grimacing on the ice. Does not look promising. pic.twitter.com/OoXQz2WeUG— Zachary Silver (@zachsilver) March 24, 2019by sah67 - Hockey

Schafer’s comments on the Galajda situation: “The million-dollar question is do I want to coach in the NCAAs or do I not want to coach in the NCAAs. That’s my goal in this press conference, so I’ll answer that question very carefully. Why the officials want to keep the net on in that situation that cost my starting goaltender, our starting goaltender, a knee injury? For what? To keep the pby sah67 - Hockey

Cop at Lynah Chase Priske (Q-Pac) took a kneeing major and received a DQ in tonight's Yale game. He'll miss the 1st game of the quarterfinal series. This boxscore has it as the ever-rare "kicking" penalty, and a Yale fan on the USCHO forum indicated that Priskie intentionally struck out at a Yale player with his skate blade: A nasty game overall with 91 PIMs between the twoby sah67 - Hockey

BearLover All I can say for sure is that Cornell has absolutely no business losing to (or tying) a team like that. We also have no business letting a team like that dominate possession for the first 10 minutes of the game, putting us in that 2-0 hole that we had to dig out of after we decided to wake up and play hockey.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Brown - 5 years ago
BearLover After Brown tied it, Cornell lost any semblance of awareness on offense and, rather than pass the puck, everyone on the team tried to go to the net on individual efforts, resulting in zero scoring changes and plenty of turnovers. That was one of Schafer's specific critiques in his post-game comments to the Sun: Schafer “ played well, we got point hungry and it came back and bit usby sah67 - Hockey

A few recent updates from the AHL in alphabetical order: -Anthony Angello is 5th in scoring for the W-B/Scranton Penguins with 15g, 10a in 47 games played. He's also bringing a lot of physicality to his game, with two fights already this season. -Cole Bardreau has appeared in only 23 games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms this year (injuries, perhaps?) -Colin Greening has 13 points in 49 gamby sah67 - Hockey

kevdog8 My guess is he dresses Song/Bramwell as needed and leaves them at the end of the bench again... Bramwell has actually gotten a handful of (short) shifts. Song, on the other hand, got zero in the one game he dressed for.by sah67 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Brown - 5 years ago
BigRedHockeyFan Wasn't Kevin McLeod called up from the club team in 2006? I believe McLeod was an "official" member of the team and not a call-up. HockeyDB lists him as playing 13 games over 3 seasons: dag14 Ithaca native Matt Hedge was called up from the club team. Can't remember the year. Before 2009, though. 2007, I believe.by sah67 - Hockey

Trotsky Their goalie was good. Johnny Walker is good. I didn't see much else from them, but that may have been Cornell just playing really well. I wasn’t particularly impressed by Walker. He played zero defense, wasn’t particularly strong with the puck, and spent most of his time hanging by the blue line waiting for a breakaway pass, as someone already mentioned. I do think their powerby sah67 - Hockey

Joakim Ryan on the verge of losing his spot in the Sharks' lineup: Throughout most of the first two months of the season, DeBoer cut his blue line down to five guys late in games, keeping Ryan pinned to the bench. He’s already showing more trust in Simek, and after Monday’s win, the Sharks coach made it clear that he wants Simek to lock down the job on a permanent basis. Ryan displayed simiby sah67 - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros - Where are They - 5 years ago
pfibiger Jacob MacDonald has signed with the Panthers on a two year, two way deal that'll pay him $750k/year in the NHL and $200-250k/year in the minors: I had no idea MacDonald led his entire AHL team in scoring last year (20-35-55 in 75 GP)...good on him!by sah67 - Hockey
