Re: CORNELL HOCKEY ALUMNI LAUNCH CLOTHING LINE - 18 years ago
billhowardGive them credit for entrepreneurial spirit. The world could do worse that to have more Cornell alums running hockey teams (and large portions of Canada). Craig Brush '70 has a first class operation in Estero, Florida. Maybe shirts are the first step ... although, gad, how many do you have to sell to make back four years of tuition times two guys? Re: Duke to forfeit games to Georgetown and Mount St. Mary's - 18 years ago
Fair points cth, Liz and DeltaOne. I jumped into this thread late, read the postings quickly and focused on one aspect of Ken's arguments. Agreed - it is not okay to pre-judge the accused OR the accuser.by Redscore - Other Sports

Al DeFlorioRedscoreI'm with Ken on this one... I'm sorry if it makes me seem like a jerk, but I really feel that these players didn't deserve to be f'd up quite like this. Amazing how someone can miss the point so completely. I may miss a point here and there but I certainly don't miss the ones I do "so completely". Obviously you are entitled to your opinion, but if you are goingby Redscore - Other Sports

I'm with Ken on this one. This situation is not yet settled and so it is still possible that the stripper told the truth, but it certainly looks like this case is heading for the trash heap. If that ends up being the case, I think its pretty pathetic that these kids lives were messed up so badly because they made the admittedly terrible mistake of getting consistently drunk and acting like foby Redscore - Other Sports
Re: Has there ever been an African American Cornell player? - 18 years ago
Grier is a BU Alum. Warren Fields was, and I would guess still is, African-American. He played 1 game for the Varsity team in 1983-1984 and he played regularly on the JV team. So the answer is yes. Interestingly Warren (Belmont Hill School?) was a rare US, and even more rare Massachusetts, player on a team that consistently had 19 or 20 players from Ontario. Those early 80's teams were nby Redscore - Hockey

I know we still have a game against Brown, and I don't mean to jinx us, but if games in the NCAA tourney are going to be like this.... I'm going to have a heart attack!by Redscore - Other Sports
Re: Cornell 2, Harvard 6 - 18 years ago
PinkyGenWait. Harvard has a fan? I was at the third Harvard St. lawrence (8-4) game at Bright on Sunday and there were, no kidding, not more than 400 to 500 people in the entire rink. These tools now find the time to crawl out of their holes but its back into the hole next weekend.by Redscore - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2, Harvard 6 - 18 years ago
PinkyGenChabot's in. Awful for Dave to get a shutout last night, and have a pretty bad game this night. Hopefully, we'll meet and beat Harvard for the NCAA championship. Not gonna happen. This team has had problems scoring goals all season and once again it cost us. If you take away two of Harvard's goals as being dumb luck, which I do, its still a 4-2 score. I don't know about you guys, but this guy RichS sounds like a nutcase psycho. I'm completely turned off by his inferiority complex driven posts. Richs, its time to go find a Clarkson site where people want to read your opinion. Buzz off.by Redscore - Hockey
Re: 2006 lacrosse preview - 18 years ago
Hillel Hoffmann BH: Mitchell's 8 goals a statistical fluke? Dude, eight goals in one game by anyone anytime is like some kind of harmonic convergence. I know Wurtzberger (sp?) had 7 goals at least a couple of times (and Goldstein had 7 assists more than once) but I can't recall if either of them hit 8 (goals or assists) that awesome year.by Redscore - Other Sports

I agree. These reports are awesome. Thanks from all of us fans who have a hard time getting to go to games these days. I really look forward to your posts.by Redscore - Other Sports

Re: Cornell 4 Colgate 1 - 18 years ago
These announcers are buttheads. Claiming that Cornell fights after every game. "Coached that way" "What do you expect, we're playing Cornell" Sarcastic comments about Cornell us a "Class Operation" They were trying to be fair until 'gate fell behind, and then the true colors came out. A couple of jerks!by Redscore - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 Colgate 0 (3rd period) - 18 years ago
Did this 'Gate guy just say "it doesn't surprise me, coming from the Cornell team" after a Colgate player got hurt? And did the color guy say "it's the way they are coached"??by Redscore - Hockey

Re: Canadian World Junior Hockey Camp Opens - 18 years ago
I'm a huge Big Red fan and will always root for our players but... I'm not the least bit surprised that Pokulok didn't get any ice time, and that Sutter may not use him often during the tournament. Any objective viewer has to admit that Pokulok has not been one of the Red's better defensemen during the last two seasons. I'd be surprised if any of us on this board were not blown away when theby Redscore - Hockey

redhair34 Wrote: I think Donato playing Tobe has a lot to do with that. He has been a complete sieve everytime he steps out on the ice...why even start him? Seems a bit unfair. Anytime you score only 2 goals (unless you are Cornell with Lenny or David, or Maine with Howard), odds are that you lose. Sure they gave up 5, but scoring only 2 with 11 pp's? Can't be all Tobe.by Redscore - Hockey

Small Ice Team - Grumet Morris - 19 years ago
From The Boston Globe - Saturday March 26, 2004 Grumet-Morris said his team is chameleon-like because it can adjust to whatever an opponent throws at it. "I don't feel as if is a team as Cornell is, where their entire system is predicated on a smaller ice surface versus ours, which is not," he said.
