Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Lacrosse April 2012 - 12 years ago
I'm no expert but I would guess so. Another bad outcome for us today when Georgetown beat Syracuse. UVA losing yesterday also sucked for us. If I was the committee, I couldn't point to a single impressive win on Cornell's resume and I could make the case that we lost to the only decent team we played, and that team is no longer the world beater they looked like a couple of weeks ago. Young team. They will act like they've been there next year. I'm excited.by Redscore - Hockey

Re: Harvard 6 Cornell 1 ECAC post-game (post-mortem?) - 12 years ago
BearLover Great post, not much else to say. This was by far the worst loss of the season in the season's biggest game. Win and we're in, but I can't say I'm too confident about it. I can honestly say that this is the first time that I do not really care if they make it or not. It's clearly wrong to feel that way and I know the team has achieved more, much more than could have been expected aby Redscore - Hockey

At least their teams get on TV.by Redscore - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey on TV - 12 years ago
PetuniaLiCicero WOW I haven't posted on here in over 10 years. I feel like the whole point being missed on this thread is that the audience for the ECAC Championship game on television is MINISCULE. As in if a Polish language talk show was being aired, it would get similar ratings. I noticed the MAAC basketball conference tournament was not televised in the New York area for the first time inby Redscore - Hockey

Re: Lacrosse 2012 - 12 years ago
A lot of nonsense being posted about Pannell's status and it's just time to knock off the speculation. One post asks, "what if he is out for the season", and then it takes off from there. Can he redshirt? Where will he play next year? and so on and so forth.... Over on the UVA Sabre message board they are already saying that two Pannell's will be playing at UVA next year. I for oneby Redscore - Other Sports
Re: Cornell 1 RPI 2 (ot) - 12 years ago
Dafatone Redscore Don't know what to say, when you have to have it..... Expect nothing from this team. I'm looking ahead already. To next year I mean.... How dare they only finish in 2nd in the conference in a year that they weren't expected to dominate. How dare they. That was just massive disappointment talking. Yes, this team has finished higher than we had any reason to expectby Redscore - Hockey
Re: 2012 RS - 12 years ago
It/s a massive downer, no way around that. No way to be positive about this... until they win the ecac , that is...by Redscore - Hockey

I'm really happy for Kevin Boothe, just love players like that who do whatever it takes.... Having said that, Go Pats but I hope Boothe has a good game.by Redscore - Other Sports

Nothing to add... Agree with all... Power Play non-existent, Ferlin vanshed, No hustle, etc. etc. Don't know what to say...by Redscore - Hockey
Re: Alumni In the Pros: January 2012 - 12 years ago
Al DeFlorio It would make a big difference if people would keep their strident political views off this forum. Second that. I think there are too many lefties hanging out here but we root for the same team and that's why we are here. If we talk about politics, we would be at each other's throats. So knock it off...by Redscore - Hockey

I can't even make sense of this thread. Can we all just stop this crap now? Particularly all you commies?by Redscore - Hockey
Re: Screw BU - 12 years ago
ScrewBU ajh258 Horrible officiating... BU didn't deserve it, just like last time. Hahahaha. Cornell could play BU 100 times, and BU wins 99 of those games but never once "deserves it." I guess when Cornell's players have no shot but tee it up right at a defender and he blocks it, that's a bad bounce. Or when they blindly drop the puck behind them but no one's there, that's bad luckby Redscore - Hockey
Re: National Collegiate Hockey Conference - 12 years ago
I guess that all makes sense. Its just a terrible sounding name but I guess that's just my opinion.by Redscore - Hockey
Re: National Collegiate Hockey Conference - 12 years ago
What a ridiculous name. Is this the best that some marketing guy could come up with?by Redscore - Hockey
Re: "Came to talk about the draft." - 12 years ago
Miami seemed to clean up - for whatever its worth. The usual suspects with the odd exception of BC. Hudon fell a lot further than I expected and Stephen Miller and Ryan not picked? Were they in this draft?by Redscore - Hockey
Re: NCAA Lacrosse Quarterfinals vs UVA - 13 years ago
Al DeFlorio Lotta love for Cornell in this discussion (maybe too much): Hope they're right. How can they be right? Danielle Bernstein picks Hopkins, Maryland, Duke and Cornell for the final four and then later picks Hopkins versus Syracuse for the final. Woweee! That must take some doing. And then Zach Babo says the list for potential impact players is long, so he's going to stick withby Redscore - Other Sports
Re: Younger Fiore's IHS Lax Games now being broadcast - 13 years ago
I was just wondering if such high level success can result in attracting at least some SU and Virginia level like talent. As you said, we would take them if we could, right? I understand all this "rigorous curricula", "aid-constraint", "scholarship" stuff. I guess the real answer is, Who in the world would want to come here if they read some of this stuff. My posby Redscore - Other Sports
Re: Younger Fiore's IHS Lax Games now being broadcast - 13 years ago
I only used the word whiff because the post I was responding to implied that it was a whiff and I understand the fit versus scouting service hype. It sounds like you are saying - it works as is and we can continue at this level the way we are doing it. I hope so but I can't help feeling that Rob Pannell didn't arrive here because of that approach.by Redscore - Other Sports
Re: Younger Fiore's IHS Lax Games now being broadcast - 13 years ago
ithacat Trigger If you can't get down to Moresco Field at Ithaca High School for the remainder of the lacrosse season, all the games will be broadcast live on 1160espn.com starting with tonight's regular season finale against rival Corning. Tonight is internet only - the rest should be on local radio - 1160am - as well. Adam Fiore, AJ's younger brother and a Junior at IHS, leads the team withby Redscore - Other Sports

I think you will know if you need to care or not at about 2:30pm on Saturday. Its not worth thinking about anything other than Virginia until then.by Redscore - Other Sports
