Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 3 days ago
BearLoverI would much prefer they take “mercenaries” for a grad year...i also would take a grad year mercenary if the ivies allowed it! it's the one restriction i can't justify even within the ivy's stated mission/intentions. i was suggesting more that i didn't want the ivies to join in the cutthroat undergrad transfer market (while 100% wanting the students to have the right to move around the rby ugarte - Other Sports

Here's the thing: everyone here KNOWS about the grad transfer/scholly/NIL/academic index issues that we will face. Complaining about them is like whining about the rain in Seattle. The entire point of rooting for an Ivy is that you do it in the face of these obstacles. We are not going to win very often as a result! What we do in spite of the obstacles is pretty damn impressive. I don't haveby ugarte - Other Sports

chimpfood Made the Ivy tournament, already a successful season in my eyes.yep. was upset yesterday when they blew a 4 run lead in the bottom of the ninth to get swept in a doubleheader at Brown but they won the third game of the series to clinch a spot in the ILT.by ugarte - Other Sports

Swampy Gosh, with 2 of our players drafted by the pros, it's remarkable that our record during their time here was so abysmal. Jalyx Hunt, a DE at Houston Christian and expected to be an OLB in Philly, was a Safety for Archer. Nourzad was RT at Cornell and switched to C for Penn State but that seems more a function of where you'd expect an Ivy tackle to move when transferring to a top B1G programby ugarte - Other Sports

lax punishes a weak schedule much more than hockey. a good ivy league that we are not dogshit in is more of an advantage than a good ecac is in hockey, imo. i still find the debate re: hockey tedious because it's essentially not susceptible of compelling proof either way.by ugarte - Other Sports

dbilmes Cornell rallied from an 8-0 deficit to win Game 1 against Yale 10-9 in 10 innings on Saturday and went on to sweep the doubleheader. Cornell is 10-4 in the Ivies, only one game behind first-place Columbia. Cornell plays Yale again today and hosts Columbia for a three-game series next weekend. No one else is over .500 in the Ivy League.Unfortunately Cornell couldn't pull off the series sweby ugarte - Other Sports

There is literally no information that indicates Syer might be the next Cornell head coach. That Syer is interviewing elsewhere when Schafer sometimes suggests that he may be ready to retire soon indicates, if anything, the opposite. You aren't getting more information because adam has done everything but send you a letter with a wax seal that says "i heard this off the record and i'm not teby ugarte - Hockey

BearLover ugarte BearLover TBH, my guess is that your conclusion was based on faulty information or faulty assumptions, because you posted a pretty definitive statement of “X, Y, and Z won’t be Cornell’s next head coach” and didn’t offer any justification, and at this point I can’t really understand what this justification could be. I’m not sure if you’re being tight-lipped about it because you’rby ugarte - Hockey

Day 1 is underway. Here are the results so far. Consolation matches are worth winning because third place is officially a national team member, as second alternate, with a training stipend. Not everyone sticks around for it so you see a lot of consolation forfeits. ugarles George64 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team Trials begin on Friday, 4/19, and will be streamed on Peacock. 4x NCAA champ and 2022by ugarte - Other Sports

Trotsky arugulaAh, ok. Folks have been talking about him as if he still had a draft year.I think he is typically mentioned as a blue chip free agent. The conversation here has largely sprung from an unknown past comment that he had another year of draft eligibility. billhoward arugula ugarte nothing dumber than a post tournament poll yes, but I'm grasping Dumb would also be not doing the poll. Gives the voters a chance to seed differently from how the brackets turn out, to upvote somebody who was really good and ran into a buzzsaw early in the tournament. George64 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team Trials begin on Friday, 4/19, and will be streamed on Peacock. Vito Arujau '24, expected to wrestle at 57kg has dropped out. He said that the cut from the 133 he wrestled in college (or the 61kg he last wrestled internationally) was exacerbating the injuries he's been dealing with all year. He is going to bypass the Olympics at 57kg and instead stick with 61kgby ugarte - Other Sports

BearLover Swampy arugula BearLover Laughing at teams like BC/BU/NoDak/Quinnipiac losing just doesn’t hit the same when they’ve won national championships recently.
