Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell at RPI 0-0 - 21 years ago
And anyone who is listening to our feed is very lucky... the RPI intermission reports are perhaps the most boring thing I've ever heard in my life. Last period they read us three polls, and the Pairwise Rankings top to bottom.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at RPI 0-0 - 21 years ago
Is he still carrying around that same old hat trick hat? I think we've had a few false alarms, but no actual hat tricks in the last few years.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at RPI 0-0 - 21 years ago
OK, I left the room for 3 minutes... what happened with Age? Did the RPI announcers say something about it, or are you guys listening to Adam?by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at RPI 0-0 - 21 years ago
Well there goes the second half of the season shutout.by gwm3 - Hockey

Jayson Moy's key to RPI victory: "They have to take shots on goal, and some of them have to go in."by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at RPI 0-0 - 21 years ago
So I take it RPI's pre-game consists of awful music (much like Union's intermission reports).by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Union, 1/17 - 21 years ago
I just got back on -- just in time for some crappy musicby gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Union, 1/17 - 21 years ago
I think we've overloaded Union's server -- I logged off for a minute, and now it won't let me back on.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: 2 North Country Wins - 21 years ago
Murray letting pucks slide out of the offensive zone is a new development this year??? In any case, I think the problem with Doug is probably that expectations are so much higher this year--what we expect of him, what he expects of himself, and what other teams do to respond to him.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: 1/6/03 Polls - 21 years ago
Well the two losses were very close losses against top 10 teams without our starting goaltender. Not saying we shouldn't have won those games, but they certainly aren't really bad losses.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: New Pep Band CD! - 21 years ago
Wow, reviving a thread that is nearly a year old. Kinda sad.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Radio feed - 21 years ago
I particular enjoyed when he called Dell a "gutless wonder." This announcer is quite the homer.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Everglades Impressions - 21 years ago
Though it sounds like Marr played very well, I wonder if the goaltending had any subtle effect. Might the game plan have been any different with Lenny in net? I heard the Maine announcer say that Cornell looked like it was trying very hard to protect its goaltender. In any case, my overall impression was that Saturday was a very hard fought effort which we could have, and probably should havby gwm3 - Hockey
Back-up goalies - 21 years ago
Well now that we officially have to worry about this... Has anyone ever seen either Marr or Chabot play (i.e. Red-White, York, practice)? I know absolutely nothing about them, but would have to assume that they are at least relatively competent (they have made a very good D-1 roster after all). As long as the D plays well, all we really need is more or less "average" goaltending to wby gwm3 - Hockey

Lots to be proud of here no matter what happens tomorrow morning.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Playoff Tickets.... - 21 years ago
If last year is any indication, there is no real need to rush and buy tickets (for Worcester at least). I think I bought them after we beat RPI at Placid and still had fine seats (plus moving to better seats wasn't really a problem).by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd vs. BC - 21 years ago
I suppose that's a good result. A little more respect for the conference without Harvard actually picking up a winby gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Not that simple... - 21 years ago
Wow Josh, I had typed in almost the exact same thing, but decided not to post it to give our friend from the North Country a little break. Always nice to have someone else who's willing to say what everyone else is thinking.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: off topic - worm warning - 21 years ago
Can any of the Mac people explain why at any given time in the Uris computer lab, or any university computer lab I've ever been in, at least 50% of the Macs are frozen? Most of my contact with Macs has been in such labs, and my experiences have been overwhelmingly negative (i.e., I have to sit down and get up four times just to find a machine that is working). I don't want to blame the computerby gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Thoughts on CU-UWM - 21 years ago
Marr has no Northeastern stats on hockeydb.com, although there is some info from his pre-college days: 3.11/.909 and 3.87/.890 in two seasons in the USHL. I would not read anything at all into the comments on the team web site. I highly doubt that the info on there comes from the coaches. That said, the description on the site (which is all the info I really have to go on) makes it sound likby gwm3 - Hockey
Re: off topic - worm warning - 21 years ago
I think this argument stands about as much chance of being resolved as the Louie's-Hot Truck fight. People are very passionate on both sides (Mac users tend to be particularly adamant), and are never going to change their minds.by gwm3 - Hockey
Re: Just in case you missed it... - 21 years ago
Too bad an otherwise pretty good article had to be defaced with a picture of Mark Mazzoleni.by gwm3 - Hockey

I would have to say that crodge2k and Adam '01 are in a tight race for first here. )by gwm3 - Hockey
