Re: Yale 51 @ Cornell 13 football (Week 3) - 9 years ago
billhoward Ken711 1-9 looks a good best for this season, only a possible win against Columbia. Yale has a transfer from Clemson (Roberts) at QB and from Canada (Vargas) as impact players. Cornell needs a huge influx of talent. Archer is another year besides this year to show some progress and then it's time for a change yet again. Question is will there be a team left to coach with all these defections from the program. From 2010 to this....what a ride to the bottom.by Ken711 - Other Sports

mountainred phillysportsfan Hard not to laugh when reading this article, Courtney sure said all the right things to get hired: "He said 'The Sweet 16 was great; why not Elite Eight?' " Wroblewski said. "He could tell there was talent left." "When I got to George Mason with Jim Larranaga, we had to teach guys how to win and perform and behave like winners,"by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: 2013-2014 Basketball - Amaker to BC? - 10 years ago
phillysportsfan Typical media, always trying to put the story out there first I think Amaker can hold out for better jobs, a good job in a bad league is better than a bad job in a good league Will be interesting to see where Donahue goes Penn would be my guess.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: 2013-2014 Basketball - 10 years ago
mountainred phillysportsfan Cant believe Donahue gets to keep his job one more year Nothing against Steve, but that is very surprising. Donahue was fired today.by Ken711 - Other Sports

mountainred Penn 69 Cornell 65 final. The 2014-15 season begins. Could it ever be worse than this season? AN are you reading this?by Ken711 - Other Sports

Trotsky Ken711 Now 30 of 31 losses going back to last season after tonight's loss at Dartmouth. We moved up in RPI. Still 25 teams below us. Alright, that's what I call progressby Ken711 - Other Sports

CAS Cornell has now lost 28 of its last 29 games versus D-1 opponents. Hard to believe... Make that 29 of 30 after a one-side loss to Harvard 47-72.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: Ivy football 2013 winners & losers - 10 years ago
Ken711 Jim Hyla Istvan Named Football's New Offensive Coordinator. Can he make us an Ivy winner? Hopefully, he finally develop a balanced offense with a running game that's been missing for some time now. With the right personnel and schemes I hope we can.by Ken711 - Other Sports

Jordan 04 Beating an undefeated #1 on the road may not save Donahue's job, but it's a nice night for him. Nice to see a signature win in what unfortunately could be his last season.by Ken711 - Other Sports

nyc94 When is the last time an Ivy team went winless in league play? Edit: Columbia 2002-2003. Dartmouth in 1964 and 1966 as well. When is the last the time a team went to the Sweet 16 and was this bad 4 only years later?by Ken711 - Other Sports

Re: 2013-2014 Basketball - 10 years ago
mountainred Ken711 Can they beat Yale to avoid 1-17? Unlikely -- Ken Pomeroy gives the Big Red a 6% chance at winning. Yale draws a ton of fouls and Cornell sends team to the line like it's our job. But after last night we are probably "due" for a good a night from behind the arc. Close game but unfortunately 1-17.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: Football finale Cornell at Penn - C35-21 Q4 - 10 years ago
Jordan 04 Ken711 ugarte billhoward ugarteThis is so insanely wrong. With Cornell on 3rd and 7 let alone 3rd and 17, that's running a prevent offense. Penn had just shown it could march down field at will. It was worth the shot to get the first down and keep Penn from regaining the offense. Skip to lacrosse: You shouldn't play a stall offense with a small lead. You absolutely should take an opby Ken711 - Other Sports

Re: Alumni in the NFL - 10 years ago
ugarte Did anyone get to watch Jeff Matthews in the East-West Shrine game? Missed a throw for a TD in the end zone that was picked off for an interception. Really didn't get a lot of playing time. Was sacked and almost fumbled but looked OK on some other passes.by Ken711 - Other Sports

Re: 2013-2014 Basketball - 10 years ago
phillysportsfan Courtney has to go. He can recruit but he doesnt know how to coach. There is talent on this team but they havent improved at all in his 4 years. They dont play like a team. They stand around the outside of the 3pt line passing the ball around and then as the shot clock runs down a player is left to make a play on his own. This winless start may end up as a good outcome becauseby Ken711 - Other Sports
