Re: RPI 2 Cornell 3 (W) Redcast Sucks - 13 years ago
I complained regarding the feed ending after regulation. They eventually turned it back on after the game was over. I was hoping it was just a technical issue maybe so I checked out the archived tape and it also ends mid-way through the intermission before OT.by mattj711 - Hockey

Yes, talk about annoying. Cornell wins 3-2 about 1 minute 30 seconds into OT.by mattj711 - Hockey

Cornell vs SLU (W) - 13 years ago
Cornel beat SLU and Clinched the ECAC regular season title this afternoon. I didn't see the tie against Clarkson last night, but I was able to watch this afternoon's game against SLU. I think its safe to say this was definitely not Cornell's best effort this weekend. Hopefully, the team has that out of their season and is firing on all cylinders from here on out. Also, there is a nice aby mattj711 - Hockey

Wish Mercyhurst's video feed for the game would have been working...at least Cornell had audio.by mattj711 - Hockey
Re: Women: Cornell 5 at RPI 1 End of 2nd period - 13 years ago
Cornell wins 6-1. Final shots on goal were 41-16. First period looked like it might be close but Cornell got on the board at the end of the period and never looked back.by mattj711 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Mercyhurst 4 (W) - 13 years ago
They will meet again in January for another Tuesday night contest...this time in Erie, PA. Overall, I thought it was a great game between two very skilled teams. I agree our PP needs some work and we need to get tighter defensively.by mattj711 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5 Princeton 1 - 13 years ago
Ronald '09 nr53 A friend of mine was one of the refs for this game and said Cornell pretty much dominated (though I guess you could see that from the score). I was at the game. I didn't think we played that amazingly. We looked a little sloppy, but we just had so much better ability to skate, stick handle, pass, and shoot than Princeton, we were still able to win 5-1. Re: Women's Preseason Stuff - 13 years ago
ithacat Matt, What's the deal with Genevieve Lacasse? Doug Derraugh's article in the CHA newsletter said she was transferring in, but she's not on the Cornell's roster (still listed on PC's). She would have been a nice addition. WOW. I missed that article (though I would love to see it) and this is the first I heard Lacasse was looking to transfer. That certainly would have been a huge pickup.by mattj711 - Hockey
Re: Women's Preseason Stuff - 13 years ago
It was posted on the women's forum on uscho.com. I've noticed that they have been late in updating the date in the past so I typically check it every Monday afternoon regardless of what the date on the main page says.by mattj711 - Hockey

Preseason ECAC Coaches' Poll is out...Cornell took 11/12 first place votes (a coach is not allowed to vote for their own team) with Clarkson taking the other first place vote. Preseason all league team was also announced. Cornell players (Johnston, White, Rougeau and Fortino) took 4/6 spots with Harvard (Buesser) and Quinnipiac (Vigilanti) taking the remaining two spots.by mattj711 - Hockey

Eight of the nine Cornellians at the Canadian U-22 selection camp have been named to the U-22 roster. Mazzotta, Fortino, Rougeau, Campbell, Jenner, Johnston, Karpenko and White made the team. Incoming freshman defense Cudmore did not.by mattj711 - Hockey
Re: Women's Preseason Stuff - 13 years ago
If you include incoming frosh, Campbell and Cudmore, Cornell has 8 attending Hockey Canada's U22 selection camp. Also, income Frosh, Slebodnick, was one of 12 female goalies invited to the USA Hockey national team goaltending camp.by mattj711 - Hockey

imafrshmn mattj711 Rumors have Marie Philip Poulin looking at Cornell, Wisconsin, St. Lawrence, Boston U. and a 5th unnamed school. If Cornell is able to land her, they will be EXTREMELY (as opposed to just extremely) good next year. I'm just glad she isn't looking at Hahvahd. Agreed though, if we do land her, the Big Red will be Team Canada-South. Hahvahrd may be the 5th unnamed school.by mattj711 - Hockey

RichH jtwcornell91 Jim Hyla ithacat Jeff Hopkins '82Simple Math Yep...where less than 25% of the season counts for more than the remainder. Not quite accurate, since some of our season games were they same. OOC they were 6-0-1 and we were 1-6-0 against similar competition. In conf they were 13-6-3 and we were 14-2-6. They lost in the semi and we won the finals, that's effectively 2 more. So evby mattj711 - Other Sports

ECAC, WCHA and Hockey East all have auto bids. BU just one the HEA championship. I think that means Cornell likely needs to win the ECAC championship to advance, but I'm not a statistics expert.by mattj711 - Other Sports

Cornell tied with RPI 1-1 after 1. White scored Cornell's goal from Rougeau. Shots on goal are 6-5, with Cornell having the slight edge. Not a bad period by Cornell, but we're capable of better.by mattj711 - Other Sports
