Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell-Wisconsin postgame thread (post-season thread?) NCAA quarterfinals 2006 - 18 years ago
great game, what defensive efforts by both squads. the team should not hang their heads after that loss. interesting how skille kinda flubbed the shot and it went upper 90. thanks for another exciting season, big red. good luck to winsconsin down the stretchby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Wisconsin 0 (5th period) - 18 years ago
lol, my wife keeps saying she is either going to have a heart attack or shit a brick. this game is driving her crazy. come out strong, RED and lets get a goal!by jy3 - Hockey
Re: Best picture ever - last night in Worcester. - 18 years ago
please, hockey gods, ignore any part of this that might incur your wrath and be considering as woofingby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Wisconsin 0 (3rd period) - 18 years ago
what a flurry of saves by dave during the pp and the last few seconds of regulation. the pk team looked quite tired, as they should have been after being on the pk the whole 2 minutes. the two PP cornell took were penalties. you have to call the one on topher - he wrapped the arm and pulled, the guy was off-balance. here is to going ahead in OT for Cornell LGR!by jy3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Wisconsin 0 (2nd period) - 18 years ago
lgr! not sure how the hit on cam was not a penalty...... a hit on a player who is a few feet away from the boards = boardingby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Wisconsin 0 (1st period) - 18 years ago
TrotskyNice "Harvard rejects" cheer from the UW crowd. Which begs the question, what are they? this got a safety school retort. oh, game is on LGR! sog-8-2 i thinkby jy3 - Hockey

Re: POST GAME CORNELL 3-2 COLORADO COLLEGE - 18 years ago
well, time for bed. just finished watching the game. we had it tivoing and my wife thought to extend the taping of the game in case it started late or went into OT. unfortunately she picked the broadcast that switched to the wild game! It switched right as cornell tied it up and then the recording stopped. I searched and found the 1130 replay and we only lost like a minute of playing time if thaby jy3 - Hockey

holy shit. that is all I have to say. All that minnesota cockynessby jy3 - Hockey
Re: CC/Bemidji/Wisconsin cheering - 18 years ago
RichHjmh30KeithK"Colorado=beer, NY= wine, Beer and CC suck" Huh? I'm no beer drinker, but I doubt you'd get general agreement among Cornell fans with that one. We'd agree if you stipulated that the beer was Coors Light. Given the Coors' Cornell connections (3 generations of alumni?), you might be better off insulting Miller Lite, which of course is going right back to railing on Wiscoby jy3 - Hockey
Re: CC/Bemidji/Wisconsin cheering - 18 years ago
"Bemidji Bites" "Colorado=beer, NY= wine, Beer and CC suck" "Buck Wisconsin" "Smelly Cheese, Smelly cheese, smelly cheese" over and over again for CC "are you like colgate, but on the far-edge of nowhere?" "wisconsin hockey sucks, dont ya know" "wisconsin hockey sucks, eh?"by jy3 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tournament on tv - 18 years ago
644 and 641 both are on now, looks like they will be carried, thank god. I am tivoing them as i will be at wedding I would rather watch hockey all day! anyway, if anyone in the buffalo area wants to watch it delayed shoot me a pm or emailby jy3 - Hockey
Re: WHERE TO WATCH: Directory of places showing Cornell on TV in the NCAA tournament - 18 years ago
varsity would be a good place too, andy. great pizzaby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Any recommendations for viewing the CC game in Syracuse, preferably near the Carrier Dome? - 18 years ago
Bars for that area? that is a great question. It should be on time warner so... there is a tv in the medical school CAB building, which is set back from elizabeth blackwell st. you could probably watch it there. I used to watch tv there when i was at upstate. similarly, you could go up to the top of the main lecture building, there is a student lounge there. I bet not many people would be therby jy3 - Hockey
Re: WHERE TO WATCH: Directory of places showing Cornell on TV in the NCAA tournament - 18 years ago
so if i have the sports pack on direct tv this game will be on and not blacked out even though it is regional? that is sweet i will have to tivo it, but still sweetby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Priceless - 18 years ago

Re: Lynah's spectator-unfriendly netting - 18 years ago
basically what happened was I was in section A at the time and play was down the opposite end. The whistle blew with the puck in the corner that you can't see from A. So I turned to talk to my wife about a previous play and heard a thump, which was the puck hitting the top of the glass and I, of course, had no clue what it was b/c play had stopped. So I turned to look and it went thru the personsby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Lynah's spectator-unfriendly netting - 18 years ago
i think the nets are needed, just not such thick ones. my forehead can attest to why nets are neededby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Green Bay Regional - 18 years ago
i wish we could. might not be able to listen to the game or watch it live we shall see. some places to get cheap flights/hotels flights: mobissimo.com - does not search jet blue, iair, southwest. priceline is always worth a check hotwire orbitz, travelocity, etc. hotels: same as above + hotels.comby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Time to root for ECAC/IVY - 18 years ago
yeah, unfortunately I am going to hope that hahvahd wins a game in the tourney this year. In fact, I hope they do well, just no title.by jy3 - Hockey
Re: OFFICIAL NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket 2006 - 18 years ago
and if we had beaten the team from east lansing both games we would be a number 1 seed. i just hope i can watch the game saturday. we have a wedding to go toby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard ECAC title post-game thread - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81 Mugford had a heck of a weekend too. Great play near the end of the Colgate game where he almost single handedly gave us a goal, and then a great effort during the Harvard game to create that point blank shot that Daigneau made the insane save on. Looking forward to watching him over the next 3 years. my wife and i were saying the exact same thing after seeing him saturday and duringby jy3 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tournament on tv - 18 years ago
upperdeckdirectv does show channel 641 with the GB regional game at 5:30 next sat according to the programming guide.. which channel is this? looks like it is fsn and service is blacked out for us now...wonder if it will be there on saturdayby jy3 - Hockey
Re: OFFICIAL NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket 2006 - 18 years ago
figured we would be west. i dont think we got screwed. we controlled our own destiny for staying east and got blown out. No one mentioned that instead of getting #9 michigan we got #10 cc. so technically we got a "lesser" opponent. hope i watch the game sometime direct tv and their tv scheduling module isnt working for some reason. anyway story at cornellbigred.comby jy3 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket Selection Show - 18 years ago
yeah jim, thanks. unfortunately i dont have that set up either. thanks thoughby jy3 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2, Harvard 6 - 18 years ago
i agree that the officiating was aweful. BUT the penalties of the third all looked legit except the charging call, it looked to me like he didnt take enough strides or leave his feet to get that call. the other calls in the 1st were STUPID penalties. the hooking call was bogus that gave them their pp and eventual 4th goal. feola missed a lot of calls both ways, though. including a few dangerous hby jy3 - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
I like Jason's ideas it would make sense as well. 6-8 are as close in rankings as you can get. Unfortunately I will be on my way to christening and unable to watch the selection show. but i will be on here right after to see the seeds LGR!by jy3 - Hockey
